Haha, I am starting a podfic streak. Snow Day by Kellifer_fic and read by dapatty, with art by torakodragon. It’s abominable snowman Stiles. That’s all I need to say. Look at the awesome art, squee over white floofy shifter feet and get mad over sasquatch hunters that try to hurt Stiles. Then love the pack for accepting him and want to cuddle the loneliness and anxiety out of Stiles because he kept it all secret from before Scott was bitten. I have no regrets.

Oh! Yay! Um I'm actually really proud of the Shoebox chapter I did with my friend. It's not really up anywhere though. I just uploaded it because yay have space with Paraka now! It's here! I'm proud of it because it's something I've wanted to do since Shoebox was regularly updating. Also, I had way too much fun recording it.

What’s the best podficcing advice you’ve ever come across?

Ummm, get a better microphone? (Which I haven't done yet.) I'm still at super basic level, so I've been really grateful for the all Audacity tutorials.

Podfic meme! So, 6, 10, 11, &/or 30? What are your thinky thoughts bb?

6. Okay, I talked about a really old one I did that is questionable quality, but that I am still really proud of, but to pick another one, I think I’ll go with one of the newest one I did. Mission Reports by raiining, which I podficced here. It’s one of my most recent ones, and one of my first Marvel ones, and after relistening to my old stuff, I’m really proud of how much I think I’ve improved. I like the way I paced the story and read the characters, even if the “voices” for them are a work in progress. And I really truly enjoy the story, and I’m so glad I recorded it!

10. Rec a podficcer. I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH, but whenever I have to rec someone, I have to go with reena-jenkins. She was one of the first podficcers I ever listened to, and she is still my go-to when I want to listen to something. Basically everyone in podfic fandom knows reena, because she is crazy prolific and super talented! I love the way she reads characters and the fun stories she picks to record and I love how you can hear her genuine love for podficcing and the stories in all her work. She is also super nice and bubbly, and was the one to encourage me to start podficcing when I sent her a creepy LJ message asking about it and basically being like “i love you, pls be my friend”. So yeah. I LOVE HER A LOT AND YOU ALL SHOULD TOO, is the gist of this.

11. Probably the best podficcing advice I ever came across was record stuff you love and only care about that. I have come across awesome tech advice and recording tips and whatnot, but this one is my favorite. Podfic isn’t the most popular thing around, and most podficcers know that when they post something, it might not get a lot of feedback. When you only care about recording what you love, it’s easier to give no shits about whether or not it will get a lot of attention. If I love what I am recording and I’m proud of it, that’s it. Any feedback I get is SO appreciated and it brightens my day so so much you guys, seriously. BUT, if I don’t get any, well, I still love what I recorded and I’m proud to have done it. <3

30. That is a lovely segue! A piece of feedback I love, okay. So literally any and all feedback makes me the HAPPIEST person ever, but to name one I adored, I would say the audiofeedback that reena-jenkins sent me for All Along absolutely made my day. It was just so unexpected (for me) and I think it was a bit after I had posted it, so I really just wasn’t expecting feedback for it, and I got the most loveliest audio feedback ever. I have a special place in my heart for audio feedback (it’s my favorite feedback to give) because as a podficcer, I love hearing people’s voices. So hearing her say nice things to me was just, UGH. I still listen to it when I’m sad sometimes <3

Thank you! This fucking time the new med also fucks up my vision (just like the cymbalta which otherwise worked great!) which is so great given that I got lasik this year to not have fucked up vision anymore! But also it makes my sweat so fucking toxic that I just washed my shirts in the wash in vinegar three fucking times and now my favorite shirts just smell like sweat and also vinegar. They're going in the freezer now, so maybe that will work?
