Have you stylish, Disney loving people ever heard of Dapper Day? It’s likely that you have but just in case you haven’t here’s what happened on Dapper Day this year at Disney’s Hollywood Studios when the dapper folk took over the park!

Back in the day, I’m talking about the 50s for Disneyland and the 70s for Disney World, people would get dressed up in their Sunday best for an outing to a Disney park. If you look at the concept art for the parks in the books that have been published about the parks’ development, the people always look very elegant and well dressed. The women are in heels and skirts with their gloves on and their hair done and the gentlemen are in suits. It’s divine. It’s beautiful to look at! Well…a large movement of people came away from looking at that art with the notion that dressing up to go the parks should be something people should do again. So…twice per year per park, now including Disneyland Paris, a huge number of people dust off their fabulous vintage fashion and bring the parks back to the days of dressing to the 9s to go out and make the people who are tourists in the park feel like they’ve been transported back in time. It’s a great time to make new friends who have great taste in vintage clothes.

What’s even better is that since most of these people are seriously in love with Disney, they combine their love of vintage and stylish clothing and Disney into a vintage Disneybound; meaning that they tailor the colors of their outfit to a certain Disney character with their own vintage flair. I’m going to publish a little gallery of pictures from the past two Dapper Day Fall Soirees that I’ve attended so that you can get an idea of just how glamorous it is!

I attended this year as I do every year! I disneybound most times that I go and this time was no different. I chose to Disneybound as Jessica Rabbit from the movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit but in 20s flapper style! It’s a wonderful day at the parks and it makes for the most fantastic photos, I’m going to include a bunch here from this year and you will be able to find my albums from past years on my photos page once I get that up and running!
