aaaah Wesley! finally some one remembers that he was an important character! It only took one whole season and 5 more episodes for him to be mentioned again
IT'S LIKE SERING AN EX 💔💔💔💔 reciting the lines like a holy scripture I mean ur girl still got it ᕙ(:˘∧˘:)ᕗ
that's it I'm watching Daredevil for the 5th time after 2 years not watching it AND I'm liveblogging it
it's like seeing an ex 💔💔💔💔
i realize now that I have soft spot for matt’s black mask costume because I have a soft spot for dread pirate roberts from princess bride
I don’t like saying a character looks racist, because it undermines the fact that racism can come from anyone and white people keep using it as an insult for someone they don’t like, when it’s a real social issue I and my family have to put up with in our social lives as well as in our legal rights
that being said
there’s something reaaally off about this family
DD3-13
“A New Napkin”, seems suitable to watch the finale just after the cancellation of the show -- I’ve dragged this out as much as it goes.
Fisk thinking of/seeing his child self just before his big shindig with Vanessa is very striking. I assume they’re geting married? I guessed right. I do believe that these two really love each other. Go you, you villainous duo.
Dislocated hip ouch. DD is really pushing his own don’t murder clause, then again he’s planning to murder Fisk, so meh. I call that Dex will do the killing shot. Foggy still hopes for Matt’s better self and to get the cops to do the right thing. . Poor Dex will be just a cautionary example.
Foggy is so damn brave though. Him standing with Dex, knowing what he’s done, and that look on Dex’s face of ‘I wanna kill you’. Smart Foggy with the photo. Seema though is doing what she needs to to save her children.
Matt just calling Dex is such a move. Dex knowing that his childhood was shitty and just throwing it in Matt’s face like that is somehow funny. Matt can’t manipulate him with that... but Julie will work. Damn, Dex is just furious and Bethel really show that anguish that Dex feels. This is gonna turn really bad and mad very quickly.
Ray’s confession will probably save their asses.
Matt is doing an horrid thing, he’s using Dex as a weapon against Fisk. Turning him on Fisk like a gun, the same way Fisk turned him on others. He knows exactly how fragile and easy to manipulate Dex is and his sending him on Fisk. Fuck Matt, that’s cold.
Dex is off in his head again. “That’s agent Lynn, he’s one of the good ones.” to Julie’s corpse. Damn Dex, you are not keeping it together. So, he’s gonna make a slash at Fisk’s party. Probably kill Vanessa - eye for an eye style -- and then go for Fisk. Still think he’ll do the killing shot tough Matt will be there and fight as well. Matt noticing Julie is a bit of a moment, I think he got who she was with that head tilt. He might be getting an idea of how unhinged Dex is at the moment.
Oh, and Wilson is so smitten with Vanessa, their wedding was cute -- until the inevitable carnage. Dex fighting is a damn pleasure. Just cutlery everywhere and rage. The casual gun in face after the click was awesome. I love good fight scenes.
What the hell is it with the roaring before fighting? It’s really weird. Good on Matt for trying to keep Vanessa safe at least. Fisk giving her the bullet/cut proof suit jacket is adorable and so caring -- he’s giving his life for her.
Dex hitting Fisk with that bowl just make me giggle. Their different fighting strategies really shine in his three-way fight. The block and throw with Matt and Dex is just funny. Dex isn’t used to anyone blocking him. So very comics Bullseye. Dex hard-on for killing Vanessa is gonna be his undoing. Oooh that crack, there went his spine (again, very comics).
huh, Vanessa reaches Matt. His plan is solid, Fisk cares too much about Vanessa to let her go to prison. She becomes Matt insurance of Fisk’s good behavior. Finally a descion was made on what was to prevail, revenge or justice -- even if it was very revenge flavored. Showing his face was such a drama llama thing though.
Dex: “I can’t move.” Poor babe, just used and abused until the end. Never got a break. I would really have loved to see his Bullseye, the hatred he’d have held for both DD and Fisk for using him, it would have been glorious.
Matt going to see his mum in the end was sweet. “Man without fear” title drop on Matt’s behalf at the funeral.
“Nelson, Murdock & Page” cute, Karen deserves it.
Dex’s surgery is really styled as an inverted cross. They do love styling him as evil. Doctor Oyama, I love that nod to the comics. Oyama was the doctor/technomage that fixed Bullseye in the comics. Annd the lights reflected like a bull’s eye in his eyes. Damn, it sucks that we were denied a Netflix Bullseye for real. It would have been great.
As for the show. It was solid, 8/10. My biggest gripes is a matter of taste; I’m not a big fan of the grim/darkness which was both literal and figurative in the show. I loved having A Bullseye in Dex and the visuals of the show, but I frequently got tired of the misery. And the muddled messages and notions of good/evil, what made certain characters deserve their redemption and others not - death was frequently the answer of bad choices despite efforts to right them.
The script sometimes got jarring and broke immersion, too on the nose and lacks some of the spark it had in the first season. But it’s better than season two by far. Fisk was powerful ut lost some of his season one stride, they had him overreach by far and it got too much to uphold.
The morality mirror between Dex and Matt didn’t work either really. It was more of a who had ppl who supported them. Matt did so he got to be better, Dex didn’t so he got worse. It’s not the comics “we turned out to be the same man” conclusion of their arch of Bulls in the DD suit, the comparison is denied so early and Dex is doomed by his illness to be used and to fall into ruin.
But regardless, overall, I enjoyed it and I think it’s a pity they didn’t get to do a fourth season will Bullseye in focus.

“One Last Shot”
I’ve honestly missed Vanessa’s and Wilson’s relationship, I just adore villains in love. Fisk fawns over Nessa, her distance though is curious. But finding their footing is hard. She wants to live with Wilson 100% not just an unwitting queen.
Speaking of badass wives, Seema Nadeem has a real steel core. Good on her for confronting Ray about his BS and the danger he put them in. And finally Ray gets the push he needs to testify.
“Sir? NOT NOW.” Dex is again in distress, he’s failed his fav person, his new Northstar and his world is crumbling again. He’s gonna do stupid shit 100% certainty. “It’s clear that I have put a too great a burned on your shoulders.” Damn, Fisk gutted Dex with that. If he doesn’t get something to hold on to he’ll unravel again.
So he went and killed the lady for the painting, begging for attention by returning it and flattering Vanessa while he was at it. New Wesley, right. More like homicidal puppy wanting scraps and praise. Vanessa is NOT having it.
Dex watching Karen on the news is just Vendetta Mode ON
Vanessa is out for Ray’s blood. She’s doing her mob wife deal and siccing Dex on Ray. Damn, I love her cold bloodedness and Fisk is beaming over her.
Dex killing Nadeem has been coming for a while now, Ray doesn’t even believe in his own pleading but Dex... it makes him confront his own feelings and himself. He chooses this. it makes him feel like himself, and damn if that doesn’t speak to how weak his sense of self is I don’t know what. Headshot and bye bye what little was left of fed Dex.
Stuff happened, and Ray got his redemption by death scene. I think its a shame and a poor use of him, but at least he had his moment to “do the right thing”, it’s just shitty that he doesn’t get to either face the music or reap the rewards of seeing Fisk go down. Vanessa is the Queen bee, and Dex is a damn mess.
My feelings on his episode are rather meh though, I like parts but it didn’t wow me. And it just goes to show that the moral debate on this show is as befuddled as it seemed. It can’t decide if it wants to solve things the legal way, the good way, or if it’s saying that you need to kill and use force to defeat evil. The whole issue seems to be trying to have the cake and eat it.
