When I didn’t immediately respond to her, Hannah started talking again.

Hannah: “I just don’t get it.  You think she’s pretty right?”

Danielle: “Yeah.”

Hannah: “So go talk to her, what’s the worst that could happen.”

As someone who is extremely shy and always thinks of the worst possible scenario, let me just say, this is never the right question to ask.  Automatically my brain went a to a million different horrible crazy things that could go wrong.

Darius: “....did you...the jellybean plant....was that YOU?!”

Jared: “I was only trying to get you to see that Jeffery was all wrong for you.  He didn’t love you like I love you.”

Darius: “I’m calling the cops....and your lucky that’s all I’m doing...i would kill you myself if i didn’t have my children to think about.”

Jared: “Wait! No, this isn’t how it’s supposed to go.  Please just - “

Things began to settle into a normal routine again and soon it was Dalhia’s birthday.  This time Jeffery was there to celebrate with her and sufficiently embarrass his shy daughter.

And then there he was.  Jeffery as an apparition was standing in front of Darius.  He wasn’t back with his old body, but having Jeffery there as something he could touch and feel again was all Darius wanted.

Darius: “Jeffery?”

Jeffery: “I can’t believe I’m here again.  I thought I would never get back to you.”

Darius: “Kyle!  That’s enough!”

Kyle stepped back frowning.  Obviously he wasn’t going to get Jared to confess and he didn’t want to make Darius angrier.  He decided the best thing to do was to go search Jared’s room himself.  He excused himself claiming to want to walk his anger off, then promptly went to Jared’s living quarters.  It didn’t take him long to find what he was looking for, Jeffery’s remains were sitting underneath Jared’s bed.

The Oasis family home was no longer filled with tears and sorrow, instead laughter was heard everyday.  The atmosphere of their home changed from dull and dreary to bright and fun, the stormy season had passed and now the flowers of spring had begun to grow.

Jared: “You think I don’t know what it means to care for a person?  You have no idea the lengths I have gone to just to be close to you.  You don’t recognize me do you?  Doesn’t surprise me, you never even knew i existed until Jeffery died.”

Darius: “What are you talking about?”

Jared: “We went to high school together.  I tried to introduce myself at prom, but then Jeffery showed up and I knew I would never have a chance with you as long as he was around.”
