In celebration for the new PJO show I thought I’d do a Percy Jackson story prompt! It’s a bit on the darker side but it’s Greek mythology what do you expect!!
In the wake of two wars the mist isn’t quite as strong as it used to be, and now enough mortals are seeing things at a rate unprecedented since the ancient times. What does this result in? Only a rampant increase in worship for the Gods. You’d think this would be a good thing for the demigods, less pressure on them to be their parents source of worship. But like everything when it comes to halfbloods, it’s never that easy.
The Gods had softened over the years, shaped by the worship from their children who largely wanted to see the best in them. Yet now with countless new worshipers, older and more powerful incarnations of the Gods begin to take form.
Naturally Percy takes the brunt of it.
Swept away to Atlantis were Poseidon, who was now at the height of his power and no longer held back by the oaths, misses no opportunity to induct Percy into his godly family. At first he’s fairly content. The surface world had been getting intense, and some of the mortals who now worshiped the Gods had definitely clocked on to Percy’s dual nature. Atlantis was a holiday in comparison! Sure his godly kin were a bit possessive and treated him like an infant at times, but he guessed to them he kinda was one! And the trips to the surface to see his father’s new cults weren’t even too bad when he was always accompanied!
It takes Percy longer than he’d like to admit to catch on to the sinister reality. Truthfully he may never have found out if it hadn’t been for the now much more direct advances from the twisted sun God. Who hadn’t been subtle at his referencing how he’ll have eternity to ‘win him over’.
Percy must now race to prevent the growing mythology surrounding his own adventures in order to prevent his ascension to God hood, but is he strong enough as his own memories and perceptions are warped by the story his Godly father preaches. And can he save his friends, who many of which are In similar positions with their own immortal parents…
