If the Emperor had a Text-to-Speech Device Special 2: Warp Hijinks
Watchers In The Dark
If you don't know, the Dark Angels chapter has a bunch of these green robed jawas running around their fortress monastery, helping out where needed, carrying ancient relics into battle...
And they have, zero idea what they are.
They're probably a xeno race, that existed on Caliban, but it's just...
The Dark Angels, one of the most secretive chapters, have these little dudes running about and just think "yeah, this seems fine."
What's even better is that DA successor chapters have them as well. Do the new chapter founders just grab their favorite watchers and bring them along? Do they travel aboard shuttles, little suitcase in-hand? Or do they just turn up?
Are they using the Dark Angels as a way to spread, to provide protection, employment and entertainment?
They have a 10 millennia long bet going, on how long it takes the Dark Angels to work out where their father is. It's taken so long, billions of chips are on the line, and some watchers are considering break the rules of the bet just to tell the DA where the Lion is, it's getting kinda sad.
Do they get up to shenanigans behind the Dark Angel's backs?
One new initiate on the rock took a wrong turn and found a group of watchers playing football. They all looked at him, and said as one "No one will ever believe you", before scattering. To this day, nobody knows why Azrael is a bit shifty around the watchers, or why they sometimes stare at him for long periods.
Meanwhile Luthor, that poor bastard, keeps writing tear-stained apology notes that he hands to the watchers to deliver to the Lion. They used to read them out, but honestly there have been so many they use them to stuff the Lion's mattress now.
Cypher is actually several watchers in power armor. It started as a joke, but it got way out of hand.
Getting close with my slightly kitbashed Captain
