Jiyong flew up to the roof of the building, where Taehyung was already waiting for him, wary of the strange feeling in the air, the way gravity was starting to feel… different the higher he got. It usually didn’t feel like this; flying for Jiyong wasn’t the way one would feel if they were dreaming about it- he never felt weightless. It was a lot like walking actually, except without his feet and more with his mind. But this time was strange and as he neared the roof, he found out why. In the middle of the sky, directly above the building, a giant circular wormhole was opening up, yawning wider and wider. Jiyong couldn’t quite see what was inside it, but it might have been space? Just blackness. “What the hell is that?” He asked the other superhero as he landed next to him, his cape flapping slightly against the newly-made gravity well. “And how do we stop it before something comes through?”
he’s got no diagnostic for it. it’s not in taehyung’s expertise to figure these things out—he just knows how to look cool in his super suit and fly around and punch bad guys. there’s no real rocket science behind being a superhero in seoul, it’s more of a black and white job with simple problems and solutions.
but wormholes present absolutely no solutions for the male whatsoever, and it leaves him atop the hyundai headquarters building with his arms folded across his chest in evident puzzlement when his partner arrived. astrophysics was never his strong subject in high school, and presumably, not jiyong’s either.
“do you know when this opened up?” it’s the first thing he asks when his partner’s feet land safely on the roof. taehyung takes a hesitant step closer to the wormhole but avoids stepping too close in fear of possibly being sucked in. from his gadget belt he slips out a small hand grenade. he pulls the trigger as he steps back and tosses it into the wormhole, directing jiyong backwards along with him. “be careful,” he warns, his arm defensively held in front of jiyong in spite of being useless in case his idea backfired. “if nothing happens, it must connect to a different dimension.”
