jour des vampires (au)

Jiyong slammed his fist down on the table hard, banging it loudly enough to make her jolt and listen to him. “Do not lie to me!” He commanded, his eyes burning into hers, his vampire fangs glinting in the low chandelier lighting. “This is not a game, this is important, Seungmi. As your Sire, I demand you tell me the truth right now.” He paused and leaned forward towards her, putting weight on his words. “You were seen in an alleyway, conversing with a werewolf. I can’t tell you who the witness is, but if this gets out that you’re fraternizing with the enemy… the counsel will have your heart spiked. Now tell me… is this, or is this not, true?”
Her eyes flicker for a moment, gaze unsteady as it jumps from one spot to the other. Her sight has never been good, being born a vampire disables her to enjoy the aesthetics of life visually, but her acute sense of smell makes up for it most of the time. Weighing the outcomes of whatever answer she has thought of, an eerie silence hung in the air. Jiyong’s words were still ringing in her ear, telling her that she should be scared and terrified for her fate at times like these.
Reluctantly she shakes her head. “That brazen werewolf has got nothing to do with me, he was merely trying to mess with me that’s all.” All comes to the worst, if they find out that she has been talking to the kin of her father’s enemies. Deep inside she knows it’s inevitable, everyone would eventually find out about the relationship and her short-lived fantasies of a vampire-werewolf Romeo and Juliet reenactment would be shattered to pieces.
