After Adam dies, Michael's eyes turn red. St. Michael Church collapses that night. All the statues of Michael the Archangel turn to dust. Paint in most famous paintings of Michael the Archangel turns into blood. Church glass cracks and shatters where it has Michael the Archangel depicted. Meanwhile, everything depicting the Devil turns into a young, blond man wearing a green jacket. That's Chuck's cue to run.

Gun callus fingers slowly stroked along the jawline up along Sam's lower lip.
"Mmm Dean." Sam mummured sleepily.
"I'm not Dean, sweetheart."
Sam eyes flew open and his breath froze in his chest as he looked into the glowing eyes he knew well, "Michael."
It looked wrong the way Dean's lips curled up into that sexy smirk of his when it wasn't really Dean, "That's right sweetheart and it would be in your best interest to remember that. This is a warning Sam Winchester you may fight me but in the end I will win and you will be mine it is a fate you can't avoid."
Michael's eyes should have turned red after losing Adam. He would have become a better Devil than Lucifer. He had spent more time loving, worshipping and serving God. He was betrayed by God in a worse way. He would have been angrier. For his stolen life. For the baby brother he was ordered to kill. For all three taken from him. For the Heaven he protected since the Beginning that God just abandoned. For all the humanity of which he was named the caregiver of. For the one precious human who loved Michael with all his heart and who taught Michael to really love. He should have walked out of the chessboard. And when Lucifer came back just to see his big brother's rotting wings and crimson eyes, even he would have been
terrified.
Only when he got his Adam back, would he have become an angel again.
