Not trashing Ninth House or the author by any means, especially knowing Bardugo has so many fans and so many love her work. I thought the setting was enchanting and did my best to simply enjoy the atmosphere and the characters therein who have different backgrounds. I also did my best to let go of the need for a fast-paced plot, accepting that this was more than likely a slow burn with splashes of horror to come. Yet, even after all that, I just couldn’t finish it. It’s become a dark/occult academia staple, at least it seems that way, but it’s not doing it for me after being nearly 100 pages in and struggling to push further. But all my love to Bardugo still. Her Grisha-verse made my teen years less stressful. 🖤 The review is by chai from GoodReads who gave a fair, thorough, and honest review. It helped me and others feel less alone in the sea of glowing reviews. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/2492981005 Have you read Ninth House?
