I was so delighted to see another update from you in my inbox so quickly, you are single-handedly saving my week!

If I may be nosy: in canon, Kevin is the first to realise Andreil is a thing. In TUOR, would he work it out quicker because he knows Neil better, or slower bc it’s such a foolish/dangerous/uncharacteristic thing for Neil to do that Kevin wouldn’t consider it a possibility? Does kevin suspect anything at this point in the timeline?

In my head, Andrew's side of the Andreil equation is easier for Kevin to work out. In the Nest, Kevin would sometimes, albeit rarely, catch Jean looking at someone with a hint of interest, but he's never seen Neil show any sign of attraction before. He doesn't really know what that would look like. It's caused him a lot of turmoil because he thinks that maybe they hurt Neil too much in the Nest for him to ever want to get romantically/sexually close to anyone.

But being around Andrew constantly, Kevin has noticed the way they gravitate towards each other and he's clocked Andrew's attraction to Neil by this point. He suspects that there might be something going on, but he's not sure if/how much Neil reciprocates Andrew's interest.

As far as I can tell, Goodreads already took all the fic titles/author profiles down (they’re generally very speedy and good about this sort of thing in my experience) but idk what to do about The StoryGraph. Like I said on twitter, I might try my luck with them again and hope I get a less shitty response, but we’ll see I guess.

I hope this hasn’t been asked before, but what do you think unkindness Neil and canon Neil would make of each other?

I think their surface-level impressions of each other would be fairly negative lol. Unkindness Neil would probably seem like an insufferable, ungrateful prick--especially when he makes snide comments about/to the Foxes. Canon Neil's willingness to put up with Kevin's harsh treatment just to Get Good at Exy would have Unkindness Neil rolling his eyes hard enough to pull a muscle. He'd probably seem like yet another obsessive fanboy.

I also think that--for a second or two--canon Neil would envy Unkindness Neil for growing up with a guaranteed future playing Exy with Kevin Day (ya know, the Dream™). And in return, Unkindness Neil would envy canon Neil for his life away from the Nest and the extra years he got with his mom, not knowing how terrible those years actually were.
