Oops I’m bad at time management

Hey, guys! This is Gaius-mun, aka Scout (or Scout-chen, with an E) if you care for names, with some disheartening news. I fear I’ve bitten off way too much for me to chew, so to speak, when it comes to the amount of active threads I currently have on my Gaius and Asugi accounts. So I’ve decided to make a list of threads that I ABSOLUTELY, 100% want to continue. 

If a thread I have with your character isn’t brought up, don’t take it as though I simply do not care or didn’t like interacting with you. I just have too much going on at the time, and was forced to choose either to prioritize a few threads or to continue on this downward spiral of avoidance and guilt that I’ve trapped myself in. If it reeeeally hurts your soul, though, feel free to shoot me a message! Maybe we can continue it at a later time. It might even be possible that I planned on continuing it but forgot to put it on the list. That sounds like something I might do. So definitely ask about it if you felt some really good chemistry going on and want to continue it.

Though Seth had expressed a significant aversion to him exploring the surrounding areas of Renais unaccompanied, Eliwood had opted to undertake that exact task within his free time. His rationale wasn’t linked to growing tired of the general, but rather to enjoy the peace of solitude briefly. I am certain that my absence will be noticed rather soon. Perhaps I shall drop into the local bookstore for a short while. I have been in search of a novel to indulge in… With those thoughts he entered the humble shop in question, which was lined with books of all genres. After briefly browsing around he selected a few unfamiliar titles, made his purchase, and turned to sit at the table available in the center of the shop for reading.

It was there he noticed a figure slumped forward, with his cheek pressed against a page of parchment. He reached a hand forward in habit, before he hesitated, leaving his hand frozen in midair. Eliwood, you are not within Lycia. Social norms certainly differ in such a place and touching a stranger could certainly be misread. He allowed his hand to fall back to his side, an expression of consternation overtaking his features. If left unattended, he was sure it would endanger the stranger in some form. He had considered waking him, but the sunken features of his face dictated that this man needed rest. With time to spare, Eliwood dragged back his chair, seating himself beside him. At the very least, I can ensure his safety as I read.

The fierce glare that appeared on Larcei’s face was immediate, as if striking flint to light a terrifying fire. “And what do you gain from asking me that, huh?” she asked back.

To ask such a sensitive topic out of the blue had only brought memories pertaining to her answer. Every single face belonging to a life she’d taken, stolen even. The nights hardly passed without at least one of them haunting her throughout it all. Sometimes her own face would appear before her, and it could only be described as that of a cold-blooded killer.

“Just…leave. Go, I don’t want to talk anymore.”

Knoll certainly isn’t the type of person Marisa would expect to give surprise cheek kisses - he’s a lot more withdrawn than most people she knows. He’s at least familiar to her, though, so though it’s certainly shocking it doesn’t bother her too much. 

“Knoll? Are you okay? This isn’t exactly something you do often…or at all, really.”

a knock comes at the old oaken door to announce his presence before he shoulders it open, pleased to find that the mage sequestered within hasn’t locked it. the ambiance of the room is dim despite the sunlight from the window past the columns of stacked books, the filtering glow of daylight illuminating specks of dust suspended in the air; many of these books haven’t been touched in years, && zeiss has to swallow a rough cough from the particles that try to sneak their way into his throat. ❝ i’ve brought your lunch, ❞ he says, stepping up to the darkly cloaked figure seated at the desk, surrounded by more volumes of varying sizes and colors. has he been working since morning? diligent as he is at his own training, even zeiss has to admire the other’s work ethic.

lunch is simple: a plate of fried && buttered fish from the southern coast -- one of bern’s staples -- and a small stack of flatbread on the side. it’s not noble fare by any means, but it’s filling. he carries a second, smaller plate in his other hand -- his own. 

❝ i was . . . wondering about your research, “ he says, sliding the larger plate onto the desk beside the man before taking a step or two back to lean against the nearby wall. ❝ why don’t you tell me about it -- um, while you eat? ❞ 

                  the bread is warm && vinegary and the batter is still hot in his                   fingers as he pulls it back to get at the fat flakes of cod, gaze                   resting inquisitively on the hooded man.

the clearly foreign mage had appeared from seemingly nowhere and had caused quite a stir -- zeiss doesn’t know the specifics, but from his sister he’d heard that people had suspected foul play from etruria. thanks to the queen’s intervention, though, the issue had been somewhat sorted out. in the end, they had offered to pay the man for his help in improving bern’s use of magic. in the past, their renowned wyvern knights and natural defenses had been enough to maintain military supremacy, but with the rise of etruria’s mages && the newly sanctioned use of aircalibur tomes . . . that may no longer be the case. now, bern needed to diversify its strengths if it wanted to rise to its former glory from before the war.

Jaffar watched from the corner of his eyes, warily, as Knoll moved, but relaxed slightly when the motion was simply the mage adjusting his hood. ...Odd, considering they were indoors, but ultimately non-threatening. He tensed up again, however, when Knoll seemingly reached for him, and the mage simply opting to merely rest his hands on the table did nothing to assuage Jaffar’s mild anxiety. As Knoll spoke, however, Jaffar couldn’t help but feel... calmer again. 

So, then, he did understand.

Jaffar mulled for a few moments for formulate a response of his own, gazing steadily at Knoll’s hands as if they’d take on a life of their own. 

“...It’s not... particularly surprising to me that you’re unable to control this...aura,” Jaffar started, not taking his eyes off the hands, “...however, I do wonder if there’s something to be done for... me...” It made sense to Jaffar that those with such eldritch energies would similarly be unable to control them--they simply were; what he feared was that the same was true for him, that he’d always be susceptible to those auras. He’d... like to think not.

Libra almost didn’t notice Knoll’s shoulders, too busy appreciating the way Knoll’s hair shone. He sighed enviously for a brief moment, imagining how it might feel under his hands. Knoll would look good in a braid, or a ponytail, or any other number of styles. Libra sighed again, Knoll’s hair was lovely.

And then he realized his gaze had lingered on Knoll’s shoulders and upper back instead of just on his hair and he didn’t look at the mage again for some time.
