Dark Matter as a Shadowrun/Cyberpunk tabletop RPG party
(Some S1 spoilers) Party Roles : 1: Mercenary- General Ranged Weapons Played by that one person who's never played a tabletop RPG and thinks morals exist. Other skills: negotiate, charm 2: Street Samurai- Martial Arts Expert Party wrangler. Played by that person who's played lots of DnD and everything else, knows how to deal with insane players. Other skills: negotiate, intimidate, leadership 3: Mercenary- Gun Slinger Hard-nosed merc with a heart of gold (?). Played by that one overly paranoid player who's had lots of evil GMs, and weathered many a high lethality game. Other skills: intimidate, survival, coerce. 4: Street Samurai - Expert Swordsman Pragmatic tough guy. Played by a still green player who isnt quite sure how to roleplay, but is steadily figuring it out and progressing. Other skills: Intimidate, Discipline 5: Hacker / Decker Party techie in a party of thugs. Played by that person who didn't know this game was gonna be a bunch of murder hobo shit, but is kinda ok with it. Other skills: streetwise, slight of hand, mechanics 6: Mercenary - Wheel Man/ Entry Man Sleeper party wrecker, or so everyone thinks at this point. Played by the GM's roommate whose able to weedle out knowlege of the comming session. Other skills: pilot, contacts The Android - NPC Hand of God Android is the GM inserting themself into the party. Enables the GM to do crazy gaming shit they shouldn't ... without killing the party.
