It was a sound he'd once taken for granted; now, Riku found it among the most comforting. He'd thought better about heading for the play island, instead pausing near the shore of the main island, just listening to the lap of the waves against the packed sand, and the sounds he associated with home.
While things had settled down somewhat, to say life had been uneventful after the Mark of Mastery exam wouldn't be entirely truthful. This was the calm before the storm, the silver-headed male knew, and while not really used to times of peace, after all that had happened, he was content enough, and certainly thankful for it. Something had been tugging at the back of his mind, since he'd been declared a Keyblade Master, and Sora had set off for Traverse Town while Riku went back to the Destiny Islands to fetch Kairi, who had since started her own training as a Keyblade apprentice.
That 'something' - or should he say, 'someone' - was Sora. He couldn't put his finger on it, just that he was concerned for his best friend. It was why he was here - the beach had a calming effect on him, and helped Riku think better. Perhaps, then, he could know why, and what it was that had bothered him.
