Ah, so Seun was out when he came home from his trip... just his luck, apparently. Once the kids were dealt with, Ryu found himself waiting on the couch for HER to get home, but he was so tired he fell asleep waiting. She'd find him laying mostly on the couch, still dressed in his travel wear, one arm cast over his face to block out the light while the other hand resting on his stomach.
She was, in fact; having needed to go into town for food, she’d left Rin in charge and headed out early in the morning. At any time now, Ryu could be home… And she needed to be completely sure they had the ingredients for his favorite meal.
What she hadn’t expected, though, was walking in the door that afternoon to find the silverette sprawled out on the couch, the perfect picture of handsome comfort. With a smile on her lips, the brunette dropped off the bags of food in the kitchen, shed her sweater and left it on the back of an arm chair, and headed back over to the couch to wake him.
Carefully, she lifted his hand off his face as she sunk down to sit beside the couch, replacing it with a soft kiss to his lips. “Ryu, love…” Further words refused to come. Instead, her eyes watered; he was home again… Home and safe. Alive. Happy… Hopefully, anyway. Kissing him again, she laid her head on his chest, content to just listen to his heartbeat.
