Can I just ask what (if any) theories you have about the quote from Linden Ashby you recently posted about Claudia's illness and how it presents problems? What problems could it present? I don't know why but my immediate reaction to that was maybe she had some kind mental illness and that's why Stiles has such an adverse effect to the darkness in his heart. Did anybody else get that?

I, Brook, have been thinking about this a lot because the comment did seem sort of unexpected and it’s definitely left me scratching my head a bit.
The other girls may have more ideas on the topic (and I have a feeling they’ll be talking about some of this on the upcoming episode) but here was my initial reaction.
First I thought maybe Claudia had a mental illness of her own. So when Stiles starts going ‘crazy’ maybe he actually thinks that his whole worldview is warped. Teenage werewolves and all.
But after thinking it over that didn’t really sit right with me because we know Allison and Scott are also going ‘crazy’ so he shouldn’t necessarily consider himself the one with a mental illness.
Then a friend of mine suggested that maybe during labor Claudia was somehow injured. In a way that maybe a messed up vulnerable Stiles can blame himself for… Because you know that would be a huge chink in his armor and an easy way for the darkness to worm its way in.
I personally don’t know of any illnesses Stiles could blame himself for but - You know that would be one thing that could really drive Stiles mad. That guilt. (Edit: To clarify - I mean is there an illness that childbirth could cause stress on? Something that would weaken her over time.)
So I could see them going in that direction. I dunno… What do you guys think? You’re like 10 million times more clever than I am. Do you have any thoughts about Linden’s comment?
