So... for the fun of it, I want to try coming up with Vital Instruments for a Darksiders/Gachiakuta crossover. I've been getting into Gachiakuta bit-by-bit, loving the fanart and watching what I can and/or trying to find a way to read the manga. With how my mind works, I've been having fun thinking up crossovers, so I feel naturally my mind would want to create one with one of my favorite video games series.

WAR: Easy enough idea as to what could be his Vital Instrument: his big ass gauntlet/prosthetic hand! I feel his power could be one of his Wrath abilities, his Stoneskin. Just have it that once activated his gains increased strength and durability at the cost of speed and stamina. Have it that Stoneskin cannot last forever.

FURY: This one is going to be the odd one out, but I feel it's fitting: her weapon, Scorn! In its basic state, it's basically just a weapon handle but with some magic, it can become almost any weapon. A whip, a lance, a broadsword, talons, an axe, and other forms. Scorn feels like a near-perfect fit for what Fury's Vital Instrument could be in a crossover, at least to me. Maybe the different forms come about as Fury grows as a person, sort of like Bundus with his various Hands that all come from his original Vital Instrument.

DEATH: Another easy enough one, and one I think is a really obvious choice: his mask! I want to stick with him being the Grim Reaper, and Vital Instruments that transform the Giver aren't out of the question considering we have Guita, so I think Death's mask turning him into his Reaper Form is fitting.

STRIFE: One that took me a bit longer than the others to figure out: his scarf! I had this idea while typing this out for what the power is once activated, that his scarf leaves behind his Shadow Clones. Yep, just like War, I made one of his Wrath abilities into his Vital Instrument's power. I think it's fitting.

I know some may ask why not just make their signature weapons into the Vital Instruments for all of them, and I can understand why. I just felt that making something that is part of their character design works better than it the weapons, you know? Rudo's gloves are a signature part of his design and those are his Vital Instrument. Also, I like trying to get a bit creative with Vital Instruments best I can, which I think is part of the fun of trying to come up with ones for characters from other series for me. I did think about trying to do it for the New X-Men but felt like I could hold off on that one for a bit since I want to reread that run of comics before try coming up with all of those characters' potential Vital Instruments... Let us  more talk about touches

Strife thrives on short but constant touches, masterly incorporating them in his day-to-day activities around you. Leaning on a table to browse through your phone? A perfect opportunity to run his finger up and down your spine! Busy cooking this 7-steps-3-pots pasta dish? Just let him tuck this loose hair lock so it won't be a bother anymore. Back from running whatever errand you have? There was some dust on your shoulder, so he brushed it off! If you pay more attention it is easy to notice what all his accidental touches are timed, never too far apart. It is as if he needs to touch you constantly to remind him, that you are real, you are here and most importantly - you are with him. And you know what? – Yes, yes it is.

War prefers casual touches that can gradually change to cuddling. Something like him lounging on a couch and you - first sitting near and when lying on top of him. Or the other way around: you sitting somewhere maybe enjoying a book, and him – joining and pulling you in an embrace. It is nothing over the top; he simply enjoys being physically close to you whenever there is a chance. Think about it this way – War spend a lot of his time separated from the world by a thick, heavy suit of armor and, on occasion a whole separate layer of stone skin. So when he is finally out of it - it is not just a whim or preference to feel you, it is a necessity as well. You are rare and you here, so let him enjoy it to the fullest.

Fury often uses touches instead of words. She isn’t in a loss for what to say, it is simply faster to reach out and get your attention this way. In a way these touches are extensions of her will:  brash, a bit too forceful, and often completely out of nowhere. It will take her some time to find a middle ground or least learn how to adjust her strength to avoid bruising your arm every single time. At least she’s already mildly apologetic after seeing you wince in pain. Fury learns slowly how to use her words with her touches, and how to be gentler with the latter. Funny thing though, she is an excellent cuddler from the start – can gently hold you for hours, shifting ever so slightly so none of you feel too stiff or uncomfortable. Her embrace is one of the true miracles this Creation has to offer and it’s exclusively yours. Enjoy!

Similar to Fury, Death often uses touches to direct or to get your attention on a minute’s notice. But he’s far more accurate with it, and the longer you two are together the less he feels the need to steer you (unless it is a dangerous situation – for those you’ll be yanked and moved unceremoniously every time). For the part which is outside potential threats – Death often content with just being in the same room together, or for the outside – with having you in his direct line of sight. This doesn’t mean that he avoids touching you, it’s just his touches always comes being almost nonchalant. Sitting with thighs touching, having your legs across his laps, laying his chin on your head, or leaning on each other…things like this. And here’s one more treat – you know how sometimes couples sit together, holding hands while each read their own book? Yeah, you and Death do it quite often, even if the reading materials are drastically different.

So... I thought up a new Darksiders crossover. A Darksiders/Digimon crossover. All because I was thinking about art I would like to commission around Halloween time, about what characters I think the Horsemen would dress as. I got to Strife and initially put Beelzemon as a placeholder, then I decided to look up Beelzemon and was like "Wow, this fits better than I initially thought."

To me at least, these two quite similar! Hell, I think two of their alternate forms look a bit alike... At least in some aspects, while very much contrasting in others. Beelzemon Blast Mode and Strife's Anarchy Form both got the big Blaster Arm, while how openly angelic or demonic the form is changes.

The crossover is more wondering how the Digital World could interact with the likes of Heaven & Hell. It would be tough, I am struggling with just the first thoughts, but I do think it could be interesting if something like the Digimon are what Humanity could have gotten that let them be on par with Angels & Demons. Maybe?

Also, in case others are wondering, for that Halloween art commission idea War is dressed as Hellboy, Death is dressed as Valiant Comics' Ninjak, and funnily enough Fury is Rozalin from Disgaea 2. I think Fury deserves to feel like royalty every once in a while. Yeah, she is a fearsome Horseman of the Apocalypse, but from what I gathered she is not averse to the finer things in life. That's just my interpretation though. Oh yeah, and each of the Horsemen would still be carrying around their signature weapon(s).

So... I have been thinking a bit on that Darksiders/Guilty Gear crossover idea again. It mostly has to do with Leo Whitefang this time around. Mostly because I was listening to Leo Whitefang's theme in Strive, "Hellfire".

The lyrics "My people are all dead but so are those bastards" got in my head while imagining essentially a fight scene. What I was imagining was more Leo Whitefang just running through a horde of demons, massacring them, after maybe going a bit berserk due to losing a lot of his soldiers. Yeah, it's a bit of a basic scene and probably doesn't make much sense in a way depending on when in the timeline I merge the two universes of Darksiders and Guilty Gear... which would probably be easiest to have the crossover aspects happen during the century War was imprisoned... I think.

I would have it the premature Apocalypse happens just as humanity would discover magic, if not a month or more before. Justice would, at least in part, have been created to fight the Demons and Angels warring over the Earth. Frederick Bulsara would still become the prototype Gear Sol Badguy. The Sacred Order would still be founded. Testament would still become a Gear, following Justice at first. I guess the biggest change due to merging two quite different series is that Gears would be created in-part to fight the Demons and Angels. Maybe after War defeats the Destroyer and the Four Horsemen bring a new Balance to the world, with I guess Demons and Angels going back to their respective realms, is when Humanity starts fearing Gears.

It is also fun to imagine maybe Samael taking a keen interest in Testament or even maybe Ky Kiske learning a bit of electricity control from Uriel. It's been a while, so what I remember of what elements Uriel can control is foggy, but I do imagine she could potentially have at least a basic understanding of electrokinesis. She is an Angel, after all.

There's also the idea of Justice dueling The Destroyer, maybe with a bit of help from Kliff Undersn... actually, you know what, here's another idea: Justice and Testament teaming up to duel The Destroyer. Justice looking to end the threat to Humanity, Testament looking to fulfill one of their father's many quests. I can imagine that a couple times Kliff may have tried to kill The Destroyer, failing to do so due to maybe lacking something. Or maybe can't, due to outside forces not letting him. Maybe it's the Charred Council, maybe it's fate itself.

So... there is one crossover idea I came up with long while ago that I wish to revisit. A One Piece/Darksiders crossover, with a focus on who else but the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. I have been in a bit of a One Piece mood lately and just suddenly felt like revisiting this crossover I came up with.

I think I would mainly translate things such as the Battle for Eden straight over to One Piece. Considering things such as the God Valley Incident, the destruction of Ohara, and whatever else the World Government has done, the eradication of the Nephilim is not out of place in the One Piece world in my opinion. As for the Four Horsemen, I think some time after the Nephilim Massacre that they would go their separate ways. As the world changed and the Four Emperors came into power, each Horseman would find themselves joining those crews. I did change my mind slightly on who would which crew since last I thought about this. Some point down the line I may come back to this and change some ideas.

FURY: I think she would have a Devil Fruit. It could bea Paramecia-type, the Convert-Convert Fruit. The idea is that it's basically a way for me to incorporate the Hollow's from her game. This DF would primarily be used to convert kinetic energy into fire, akin to Charon from Fire Force, though Fury could also use it to say convert electricity into kinetic force or even fire into ice. As for Haki, I think she would be most proficient in Armament Haki. She would go on to join Linlin and the Big Mom Pirates. Initially, I had her join the Beast Pirates but felt that her joining the Big Mom Pirates was a bit more thematic in a few ways.

STRIFE: I think he would have a Devil Fruit. It could be a Paramecia-type, the Shoot-Shoot Fruit. The Shoot-Shoot Fruit would allow him to transform his body into type of firearm. Much like how the Dice-Dice Fruit only allows Daz Bones to transform his body into blades, the Shoot-Shoot Fruit would only allow Strife to transform into firearms. As for Haki, I think he would be most proficient in Observation Haki. He would go on to join the Newgate and Whitebeard Pirates. He is the one I can mainly see joining Whitebeard because compared to the other Emperors, Newgate is not as crazy and/or battle hungry.

DEATH: I think he would have a Devil Fruit. It could be a Zoan-type, specifically Mythical Zoan, the Bird-Bird Fruit, Model: Gurulu Raksha. The idea for this comes mainly from Gurulu in Shin Megami Tensei, specifically how the demon looks in SMT V/Vengeance, as a large, skeletal bird. This bird is said to be a flesh eating one, so I had this idea for Death having regeneration with it being dependent on flesh he has consumed... though that would probably not entirely fly in One Piece? It feels a bit dark for One Piece to me, though not out of the ordinary for some other big-name manga that popped up in recent years. So, I'd likely make his regeneration just dependent on how much food he's recently eaten. Make him a big eater but probably not as much of one as Luffy. He would go on to join Kaido and the Beast Pirates. Mainly to keep an eye on what he sees as a potential threat to the world.

WAR: I think he would not have a Devil Fruit. Instead, he would be more proficient in using Haki. Speaking of that, he would be very proficient in both Armament and Observation, with maybe potentially able to use Conqueror's Haki down the line. He would go on to join Shanks and the Red Hair Pirates. The two are swordsmen that lost an arm with an association with the color red. I could see his reasoning as to why he would join the Red Hair Pirates as he is looking for a decent challenge and thinks he will find it out on the sea. He would join Shanks due to him being a kindred spirit and an overall nice & chill guy.

...An idea just struck me: combining Imu with Lucifer. Both are the long-hidden big bad with plans to stop their enemies. Both are the able to possess others to do their bidding without leaving their homes. Both fear the powers of the protagonists due to it being enough to rival them and stop their plans... Man, I can't wait to see what Lucifer looks like in the Darksiders universe. Sadly, still have a while to wait for that I feel.

Now I feel I gotta try thinking of ways for some other major Darksiders characters outside of the Four Horsemen to work in the One Piece world. Samael could have a blood-related Devil Fruit most likely while Azrael could be someone without a DF and uses Haki, though could be a bit more pacifistic. Uriel and Ulthane are ones I still gotta do more thinking on for this.

Hellboy/Fire Force/Darksiders

So... I got thinking about a new crossover idea. You can tell what it is just by looking at the title of this post. This feels easier to think make a cossover of than a similar idea I had of Hellboy/Soul Eater/Darksiders. I may talk about that crossover in another post, considering Fire Force and Soul Eater's connections.

Hellboy himself could still be a demon from Hell itself, but if known by any of the general public, he is spoken of as almost a proto-Infernal, an Infernal before Infernals. He dismisses it all though, as he has no burning core but actual human-like biology. He is still a living, breathing being. Meanwhile, Liz is still the BPRD's resident pyrokinetic, being a powerful one, also being an older member of the Special Fire Forces, maybe helping found them in the past and being much older than she looks. Maybe Liz could potentially even rival the Evangelist? I'm unsure about that at the moment, we'll see as I develop this crossover. Maybe it would be better to have her rival Leonards Burns as a pyrokinetic than the Evangelist. Hellboy could encounter Shinra, not when he's a child, but at some point during a trip the former has been on. Maybe Hellboy is visiting his old friend, and Shinra attacks thinking he is an Infernal.

Meanwhile, the Four Horsemen are unknown to the people of Earth but are known of by the BPRD. Strife mostly, as he has personally interacted with the likes of Hellboy. The two even had bit of stand-off, daring the other to take the first shot. However, it is War that Hellboy has more of a rivalry with, the two big red fighters having enough in common that they seem to gravitate towards wanting to see who is better. Then there's the crossover with Fire Force aspect, and I think it would be Fury secretly trying to protect humanity, per her self-chosen role, but she could not stop the Evangelist and fight the demons over the rest of the world after the Cataclysm. Oh yeah, in keeping with Fire Force, while Angels, Demons, and Horsemen would call it the Apocalypse, the human survivors that made it to Japan could come to call it the Cataclysm. I even had the idea that maybe in this, the Charred Council could be responsible for Spontaneous Human Combustion. That very much feels like a move up their alley to me, as while mysterious, the Charred Council very much feel like those types of bastards. Demons are confused for Infernals should they ever make an appearance in Japan, and can be quite similar, but are more often living than they are dead, or I guess undead. In Fire Force, Infernals are said to be deceased human I'm pretty sure, so I guess they are more like flaming zombies now that I think about it.

Taking Fire Force and Soul Eater's connections into account: the Pale Rider could maybe be some of Shinra's inspiration for Lord Death. More specifically, the masked Reaper aspect of it. The idea even crossed my mind that Lord Death could just be a reincarnated version Darksiders' Death. Something like Shinra is able to pluck Death's soul from the Kingdom of the Dead and just turns a fragment of it into Lord Death, after some prodding from Shinra of course. I could go with this or a different I had a neat idea a while ago of the Pale Rider becoming a powerful force in the Kingdom of the Dead. The second one could even help with there being two beings, that are not easily connected, going by "Death". One keeps order in the world of the living, the other the opposite world. Maybe the other Horsemen visit their brother every now and then after everything calms down for them all.

So... I am once again thinking of a Guilty Gear/Darksiders crossover. Mostly in a lore/story sense than a gameplay sense this time around. I did make a post a while back that was basically a snippet of a potential fanfiction that goes into some ideas I had for a crossover. I am in part making this post because I may change some things from the initial ideas I talked about before

Another things, real quick! I am also imagining a battle between Sol Badguy and War. Especially the part where they power up into their respective super forms, Dragon Install and Chaos Form. Imagine the kind of battle that could be had!

So! Going into some of the changes, I may have implied that it is War's cells that were used as the basis for Gear Cells, and kinda said at the end of that snippet that Justice awoke due to the breaking of the Seventh Seal, but also kinda implied Justice was active before that. I want to change the basis or Gear Cells to be something else, really. War could still be an inspiration due to his superhuman feats, but maybe no humans could get close to his body due to it being strung up by Hell's forces before it disappeared due to the Charred Council. I could have it that maybe Justice was awake for a while, but then fell asleep under mysterious circumstances, then woke back up due to the Seventh Seal shattering. Maybe the Scales of Juno, what helps make Justice be Justice, is allowed it's full power when all the Seals are broken. Same for the Flame of Corruption, it's just not as noticeable to Sol himself because he already had a power-limiting headband on.

Now, what being would it be that is used as the basis for Gear Cells? Well... what creature has Flames and Scales? A DRAGON! Guilty Gear's Flame of Corruption and Scales of Juno are important enough in the lore despite not seeming to have much to them, from what I can find, that maybe I could make it that it was a dragon that was used as the basis for Gear Cells. Hell, Justice's full form already looks a bit draconic in a way despite also looking very robotic.

Maybe I could have it that Dragons were once beings between Angels and Demons, maybe once seen as a potential Fourth Kingdom, but were also seen as too much of a threat by the Charred Council that many were exterminated. The Charred Council seems to have a very... strict view of Balance, so whatever they see as a potential Imbalance may be dealt with however they see fit.
