I went absolutely feral when I saw him in s3 of Broadchurch as a psycho criminal after only knowing him from HH 😭 he is in constant battle with Mat for my favorite Idiot tbh… but at the same time I love all of them so much for different reasons it’s impossible to pick one

i love jim!! i've never seen his solo projects, only six idiots stuff but i really gotta change that one of these days. i genuinely think he's the funniest of the bunch like he could just give me a look and i'd die on the floor laughing. i DID see him on bake off and he gave off suchh a lovely energy

i literally JUST FINISHED IT aaaaa it was so much fun! especially right after YMATA, it was so nice to have a totally silly brain-off type show where i could just watch mat be a goofy lil guy. i TOTALLY understand now why chris pitt-goddard is a fan favorite here on tumblr

ok first off holyyyyyy shit i adore this show. i only watched it for the first time this month and i'm already on my second watch through. unsurprisingly, i lovee the jamie/ariel/layla stuff bc holy shit. jamie's my fave character and it breaks my heart so much to see what he went through but it's so delicious to see him crying and suffering and angry about life ♡

i also LOVE celine like she's so sweet and deserves the world, it's honestly so tragic about her and jude .. but she did seem to be the only one that was happy at the end so good for her tbh

but also like rhonda and her family!! i really felt for her. i honestly don't know if there any characters i didn't like/find interesting (although i guess arnold and grandma are kinda whatever)

and ... the ending. oh my god. my gut tells me that jamie didn't make it and he was always destined to die. but also the way this show's logic revolves so much around plot twists i know it WOULD be possible that he snuck down a vent or something. but idk man .. i think my poor boy (naked and defenseless mind you) got torn to shreds by rocks and ash

as far as the box, i always thought it sounded like rhonda? so either her and scotty were secretly triplets and they had another sibling that looks like her, or maybe there's some insane cloning nonsense going on in that lab

Care to give a rundown on 3D rendering?? I am wanting to learn for my art business to create models for characters but it wouldn’t hurt to be able to help add to the oskate collection 🤭

I can certainly give you a rundown on how I do 3D rendering. Thanks for your interest. First of all I gotta say, I'm not modeling anything myself. I don't really know anything about that.

I work with a program called Daz 3D Studio. And it's basically playing with digital dolls. Of course, you need to find the game models you want to play around with and make sure they are ported for Daz 3D Studio. Otherwise they won't work at all or only in a very annoying and exhausting way. Sometimes they're not for free. Sometimes you have to pay someone to port a model for Daz 3D Studio, if you can't do it yourself (which I can't, have tried to learn it, but it really really sucks, so I gave up).

If you just want to play around with random characters, create your OCs, etc, Daz 3D has an own online store where you can buy countless characters and literally anything else you need for what you want to render in your scenes. It ain't the cheapest hobby, I can tell you that much. Really don't wanna now how much I spend since I started using the program back in 2017.

I always describe creating Daz 3D Studio renders like a mix of the work of a photographer and a decorator. You’ve got your characters which start in a T-pose if you load them into the program, and props and endless possibilities to create any scene you want up to the tiniest details - and I mean that. For example, one single finger of a figure has 3 different parts which can all be moved separately. There are ready-to-use poses though which help you save a lot of time, but they're never perfect and you need to fix them, before they are free of any issues. You see, the models aren't solid and if you don't take care, they sink into the things they touch, be it another character or a prop. Then you gotta add a light source which is still tricky to me sometimes, even after all this time. When you're satisfied with your scene, you hit "render" and let your computer do the rest.

When the rendering process is done, I start editing in Gimp and Photoscape.

And that's bascially it. If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask.

No worries about the spoiler haha!! 🤭 I had my theories but honestly my hopes were not up for the third game… I have actually been putting off playing because I’ve heard Oscar’s characterization is totally whacked in 3 and not sure I want to find out what that means 😭

but yes I’m writing a fic! It’s just a little Oscar x reader oneshot where you find him in the snow in Syberia2 after the train is trashed (I totally didn’t cry) because I wanted to explore writing a robotic character! I would LOVE to see whatever you’ve written!

heehee I just love the look of the original Syberia, but I def want to play the remaster just to relive it in a new light :3 very excited to have found someone as passionate about this game as me! (also my inbox is open if you have questions for me!)

Oh, I hope you'll do finish Syberia 3, @darlingdearestdove. While Oscar is definitely different compared to his former train engineer automaton self, it's still worth to see the full story, in my opinion. And you get some new Kate & Oscar interactions definitely worth seeing I'd say. I've actually written down my thoughts on Oscar's character changes in Syberia 3 here, if you're interested. I got so emotional when I got the first look at an XZ2000 model in Syberia 3. Remember, I was left for basically 2 decades with the thought that Oscar's character death in Syberia 2 was permanent. I never expected to see him "come back to the living". While Syberia 3 lacks A LOT in many ways, I was just so happy to see Oscar again. Are you planning to play Syberia - The World Before? Oh, if you ever publish that oneshot I'm definitely gonna read it! I don't know if you know, but there's a total of 61 Syberia fanfics on AO3 and some of them are not even in English. I found like two that I really liked, but they're really short oneshots. It's not enough *crying*. I'm actually active in the "Detroit: Become Human" fandom, for several years by now. Means I've spent a lot of time thinking about robotic characters and artificial intelligences becoming sentient. But the characters from that game are state of the art androids made to look and behave as human-like as possible, so Oscar being "only" an automaton made from metal and gears is still different and interesting to explore. I'll let you know if I'll ever finish a story for the Syberia fandom. Would be glad to have someone who actually wants to read it, lol. But my problem is (beside the mentioned writer's block I'm already trying to fight semi-successfully for the past years) that I have lots of ideas, but can never seem to finish any of them. The one I'm currently trying to write writing takes place at the end of Syberia 2, precisely during the night before Oscar sacrfices himself for Hans. I always thought the farewell between Kate and Oscar wasn't emotional enough (not that it didn't break my heart anyway, lmao), so I'm trying to get a little more into that. I changed the canon events just a tiny bit for that. For example the train isn't trashed, so it's still complete when they arrive in the Youkol village, so Kate still has a bed inside the train where she can sleep. And that there's a night between Kate telling Oscar the first time that Hans told her she has to open his heart and the moment where she repeats it and Oscar leaves to "serve his purpose". I want them both to talk about it openly and see how they handle it. Can an automaton be afraid of "dying"? Oscar's German voice actor from the first two games did a really goood job with tiny nuances in his pronounciation that lets you believe he actually can and is. Which makes everything so much more tragic. Looks like I need some more time to reply to your Oscar headcanon ask. So lets see how long it takes. I'll send some asks, if I can come up with questions I haven't included in my replies to your asks ^.^' .

That said, I had wanted to ask about writing POCs specially reader inserts… I read your tips on writing to be more inclusive, but I wondered if you ever wrote specifically for POCs at all? Such as reader with dark(er) skin tone, different hair texture/color, etc. Sorry if this is at all insensitive, I am just very curious and love to hear your thoughts on topics like this!

but answering your question: uhm publicy? no, i never posted a fanfic where my reader is a woman of color, but i have some drafts that have a similar concept, like curly hair (i have curly afro hair), that were requests that i need to finish and post. another concept more closer would be my brazilian!reader (that it's unfinished, but the topic more important of her it's her culture around her and not her actual body or type of hair, brazilians aren't known exclusively for having a specifically type of hair or skin color). for a long while i never imagined writing some kind of reader where her skin color was the main point because the thought never came on my mind — and tbh i don't know how i would made this the high/main point of the fanfic + i never read a fic with a black!reader or smth 😕 —, and when writing i always imagine some kind of version of myself, so the skin i visualize it's like mine, light black skin, but ofc i don't actually word that in the fanfictions because it would exclude a good amount of people and my intention it's to be for every woman feel included in the reader insert.

in conclusion: i don't know how i would make a fanfiction highlight the !reader skin color beyond briefly mentioning in their characteristics, the fandoms i'm in i never bumped on a character x black!reader to have a better knowledge on how to made this the main point. — but now that you made me think about this question, i think it would come from my personal feeling about how i love when i see a favorite character have a love interest where's the woman is a person of color, i love interracial couple because of that (and bc my parents were a interracial couple), mainly when the woman it's a black woman. because most of the time black women (+ being latina doesn't help in that) are much more objeticfied and sexualized, so for a long while in media they usually aren't the 'end game' of the protagonists and not the chosen ones, because of who they are and most of the time only reduced by their bodies and being 'agressive' 😕. in my mind peter maximoff (quicksilver) would match SO WELL with a black woman, it would be his type, idk i just think it's a beautiful matching... (couples where the woman is black and the man is white are usually my favorite ones bc of how i saw this in my life with my parents) but ofc this comes from a totally bias place because i am a black woman, so uhm. 🤷‍♀️ i would love to feel that much desired by who i am and not only my body by my favorite characters. — so if i were to write about this topic, i would write how the character saw me, my true self, i am a neurodivergent black and latina woman, being mistreated or reduced to nothing is quite easy, so that's why i love SO DEEPLY the trope/line where the character (or f/o) CHOOSE me, i love those classics "because i want to be with you, because i love you". they saw me truly by who i am and did their best to understand me, and they do. so i absolutely adore when a character is a simp who worships head over heels their black woman by who they are and not only their beauty.

i hope i wasn't a waste of your time and didn't repeated that much of myself, i think i did- sorry! i, myself, need to know how to write about this topic, i feel a little embarrassed by confessing idk that much either! 😞 but i don't have any black girl friends and who are interested in fanfiction/writing! 😭 i'm tagging this so if anyone see this and wants to give me tips, i would love too!
