      wendy, being the eldest,  had the LATEST of the curfews           that was, among her and john and michael     which allowed       for wendy to sit with her parents and read a book,  while mr.       and mrs. darling did whatever they CHOSE to do at the end       of a long, tiring day.  but mrs. darling had retired early and a       rare thing occurred: daughter & father alone.
