Summer Goals Tag ~
Alrighty, my dudes. I got tagged by @damned-after-all to do this, and I honestly think it was good to think about because it is more than halfway through summer and my life is 50% in shambles, 50% together, So here is me throwing my summer resolutions into the wind.
1. THE GYM
When I was doing my first year of college away from home, I would head to the gym at least four times a week, with or without a gym buddy. But upon coming home, I’ve lost that motivation to keep going and I’m actually really disappointed in myself because I was doing good. Even though it is halfway through summer, I would like to start heading back to the gym when I can (which should be all the time considering all the free time I have on my hands) and that would be in tandem with healthier eating. Granted, I don’t eat like an absolute slob, there are still a lot of things I could cut from my normal diet or even add to it. The area I live in has a free gym at least a block away and my family already stocks the kitchen with mostly healthy items so it shouldn’t be too hard to get into gear with a swift kick in the rear.
2. LESS SOCIAL ANXIETY?
Ahh, this one would be a lot harder. It’s also why I haven’t pushed myself to go to the gym. I don’t want to interact with anyone face to face, like ever. Family doesn’t count because I see them every day, but estranged “friends” and strangers I would rather avoid. Though, this is... the part I’m supposed to be working on, it will be difficult. I’m not entirely sure how to work on fixing it, though if I start with the gym, it will gradually become easier? I’m open to any help :^]
3. LAZE LESS, DRAW MORE
This is probably the biggest problem. I often come up with several ideas that I’d like to put on paper and they all seem like great ideas... until I have a piece of paper and a pencil sitting in front of me. I mean, sometimes it’s not so hard when I have a random idea thrown at me for a small spontaneous project. But it’s the larger projects that I would like to get back into, I haven’t done anything major lately and it’s honestly saddening. There are smaller, nicer projects I’ve done and I do appreciate them, but I just need the motivation to do the bigger things. I normally would make a list of the things I wanna draw but then there’s the problem of actually picking something from the list to create. I think the key to this problem (thanks to some insight from @xxxxnatasha) is spontaneity. Just... Whenever something happens to pop into my head, do it. If I come up with another idea while in the middle of my initial thought, I switch to that one. And when I’m done for the time being, I take note. And then I come back and do it all again next time. Hopefully this gets me out of my rut.
