speak of the Darrell
*chicken noises*
Just a quick doodle of what my version of Darrell looks like
Okay so is the chicken from CCCC named Darrel or Darrell?
I know it was @/socialc1imb who popularized the name, and they spelt it as Darrel in their post, but in later reblogs they spelt his name as Darrell and I have no idea if there's like a concensus on his name or not.
What's funny about my version of Darrell is that he basically runs on cartoon logic.
He:
-Can understand human speech, but can't speak himself
-Is smarter than he looks
-Uses his wings as arms/hands
-Can play the drums because of this
-Is basically one of those funny animal sidekicks you'd see in a cartoon. Does it make sense? Absolutely not, but being whimsical and silly is more important to me than making sense.
(All of this also applies to Carol, the 123 trio's version of Darrell, but instead of playing the drums, she plays the keytar)
Can I give Darrell a treat perchance??
{Of course!} You have the Darrell seal of approval
Did you know: Darrell was actually Lune's happening.
Lune does this thing where he'll take bird eggs and incubate them until they hatch, and then they'll return the baby birds to their mother. It's a result of his avian instincts, basically.
One day, Lune decided to do this with a random, ordinary chicken egg, and after a few days, the egg actually hatched into a chick, and Nix named it Darrell.
