He’d been watching over his grandson for years, now. It practically felt like an obligation of his, what with how much Kylo said he worshipped who Anakin once was. Anakin knew that his grandson was tormented, knew that he was being torn between the Light and the Dark at any given time. That’s why he felt like he had to be there. “Are you sure you’re making the correct choice?” he questioned out loud, standing off to the side, his eyes on Kylo. “This is a life-altering decision...”

THE FLUTTER of his eyelids is enough to send her heart to her throat. Her lungs exert a breath of relief, though her inhale is choked on the overwhelming sensation of one word: finally. All Rey can do is wait, hand resting idly on his chest. “-----Ben.”

the way he had requested understanding had not been in the least bit bitter; in fact, his voice had been gentle. but that did not reflect the true feelings of what was going on inside of him. his legacy was this; darkness. and that betrayal to everything he had stood for his entire life was something that caused anger to swell up inside of him. anger, and resentment.

“What? That I know my friend is in there somewhere?” Anik keeps his distance, hand resting on the saber attached to his belt. This was dumb but he had to be sure.  “I don’t believe Ben Solo is dead and I know you don’t either.”

      "Stop,” there is no halting the command from sliding across her lips. He’s hurt. Bad. One wrong move and he might not make it long enough to even reach for his saber. It might’ve killed anyone else. “Just... Stop. Do not move again.” Fox was on her hands and knees in an instant, peering close at the piece of shrapnel to get an idea at how deep within him it cut. Sparks, smoke, and the moans of others filled the collapsed space. Panic could set in soon, but she was calm. Hands quickly releasing themselves of gloves to touch at the punctured skin gently. Not waiting for permission, not caring about rank or status. He was another injured, living, breathing thing. He would be saved. 

      “Where is your saber?” Close, hopefully. “We’re going to have to do this quick.” A million different thoughts came to mind. Internal bleeding, infection, the walls around them breaking further to suck everyone out into the darkness of space.

      Chin held slightly higher than normal, hands aching to ball into defensive fists at her sides, Fox willed herself to bite back her own shame. “Training accident,” it wasn’t full lie. The fact that she had to lie at all twisted her stomach into turbulent knots, but she doubted anyone would have approved of the training she was doing. Not with others aboard the craft, but down a nearly always abandoned access hall. Using a discarded mop handle to hit walls and pipes, anything that could pose an imaginary threat. Fluid, mostly defensive, movements were one thing but allowing her hand to grow too lax as she swung the metal stick down on particularly thick pipe was another. The rod flew back from her fingers, right toward her face. 

      “Lunged when I should’ve ducked,” she offered a crooked half-smile, shoulders still stiff. Now that was the truth. “It will be healed soon and it won’t happen again.”

THE CONCEPT IS SO FOREIGN to her that she takes a minute to register what Ben’s just disclosed before slapping a hand over her mouth. “Oh no, are you — really?” To sleep alone is one thing, but ever since the return from Exegol? She’d rather not. Too many chances to slip into nightmares, have second thoughts. Having Ben nearby calms those qualms, but it appears her time running the night alone has made her less than ideal to sleep beside.

“looks like droids. i didn’t know the wars reached out this far. be alert. they could still be here.” so much for anakin’s plan to find a SAFE environment to work out why and HOW kylo was here - in his time. unhinging his saber, he took steps forward; his attention turning to the messy, ransacked temple. he hoped it was droids. if it wasn’t, his next best guess would be a sith. and he had enough sith problems to deal with.

“sweep the area. meet back here once you’re done.” he looked back over at kylo ren, raising an eyebrow expectantly. usually, he wouldn’t trust someone like him. someone who felt so DARK. but… this was his GRANDSON, apparently. and despite his wariness, the other seemed just as confused to be here as anakin was to have him here.
