Vogue Patterns Magazine
It’s summer according to both Vogue Patterns and the thermometer where I live, so I point out to a few of the summer patterns that the magazine features. Remember, this is a magazine of pictures and articles on various techniques; it doesn’t contain all the patterns it pictures.
At the top is a romper perfect for the teenager or the young woman looking for something playful and bare, Very Easy Very Vogue 9259. They made it in eyelet and then underlined in white. Eyelet is a tempting fabric for summer and it comes in so many colors this year. Then ere is the off-the shoulder top, another Very Easy Very Vogue 9257. This pattern comes as a set with shorts, wide-legged pants, and version of the top with longer, ruffled sleeves. Perfect for resort wear or play days.
The dramatic black sleeve is very much like one I recently spotted in a 1930s movie, but this one was designed by Belgian designer Anna Heylen who is featured in an article by Tracy Majka. Full instructions for drafting and making this sleeve are included.
