“Hey, come here,” she took a gentle hold of his shoulder to turn Alfie her way “I know,” Moira insisted, sending her adopted son a smile “And Patrick knows, too.”
Moira kissed his forehead and gently wiped his tears away with her thumbs “There is no need to hide away what you feel around me, Alfie,” she whispers against his skin “I know how hard you are trying, and how hard things can get around here.”
“And Patrick is ... a sensitive soul, but he will forgive you, too. He has probably already forgiven you, once you are ready to go see him again.”
