Last meaningful thought: “I oughta take Naya somewhere nice the next time she’s got a minute. Maybe caf and beignets the next time I’m around the Senate tower. Wonder if I can convince her to wear her hair down. Because it places less stress on her scalp, dammit, not because it’s pretty. Shut up.”

Friendship

1. Does your character like to make friends?Definitely. He's not exactly "life of the party" or whatnot, but he certainly wouldn't turn down an invite to said party.

3. Does your character make friends easily?I'd say Dash makes friends easily, but he doesn't have an abundance of close or intimate friends. He's an all-around good guy and certainly not short on charm - easy to like, easy enough to forgive if he rubs you the wrong way.

Romance

2. Does your character have any romantic preferences (besides gender)?Dash is heteroromantic.

5. Is there anyone your character would like to be dating?Elara's up there on that list. (Naya's a close second place, except that a) she's taken, b) he'd be afraid that things would get awkward, and c) he'd never, ever, ever tell her.) When he was younger, he'd had a generally unrequited thing for Audraene that he'd wanted to pursue, but that eventually passed.

7. What's your character's ideal romantic date?Dash is all about going out on the town: getting dressed to the nines, dinner somewhere nice, then dancing or drinks or a night out at the casino. Dash feels as if he needs to have a plan when it comes to dates, as a military lifestyle doesn't have much allowance for improvisation or being able to engage in a relationship on the fly. This is ostensibly also due to a lack of experience in general; Dash will crush on a girl, and frequently, but generally won't act on it.

Sex

5. Is there anyone your character would like to be sexually active with?Dash's fantasies regularly feature Elara (and on occasion - okay, maybe a little more than "on occasion" - and he'd never, ever, ever, ever tell her, for fear of being thrown into a wall and receiving a solid Jedi beatdown - Naya). He had a quick fling with Jaxo, and he wouldn't mind revisiting it. He reconnects with Audraene and Nymé later on, and develops a strong attraction to Nymé, It doesn't end well. :p

6. How often does your character have sex?Not often enough, he'd say. :p

7. What's your character's ideal setting for sex?Again, Dash is into the planning - bed, minimal warm lighting (candlelight or firelight a bonus), soft music. His fantasies tend to take him into less familiar territory: outside on a grassy knoll somewhere secluded; against the wall of the weapons cache; a quickie in the fresher; on Elara's desk after knocking all that blasted paperwork aside (do not tell her or he'll honestly knock you on your ass). He's finding himself more excited by the prospect of being somewhere they could get caught, but he's not sure he'd ever be able to act on it.

OH MAN OKAY FINALLY WORKING ON THIS. XD

Dash has a light smattering of freckles inherited from his mother (who in turn got them from a human ancestor a few generations back). Dash's height and broad shoulders hails from his dad's family, and most of his brothers are built the same way.

Dash and Clarie, despite being the oldest and youngest, respectively, of their siblings, look the most alike - grey eyes, strong jaw and cheekbones, jet black hair. They're also the most alike in character, both being dedicated to their duties and possessing a strong work ethic. Granted, a lot of that may have to do with Clarie utterly idolizing her big brother (and perhaps missing out on a lot of Dash's "work hard play hard" antics - it's not like he's going to write home about getting stuck in a dumpster by gangsters :p).

35. Distracted - Dash (and Naya if you want ^^)

(WEEEEEEEEEEEE DASH/NAYA FIC THIS TOOK FOREVER BUT I AM SOOO EXCITE <3333)

Balance. Perfect balance. It was an especially difficult thing to believe in, let alone achieve, especially with things as they were - the galaxy on the brink of war and all. But here, on the banks of the Tython River, the Force as warm and alive as the breeze lifting her hair, she could acquiesce to the possibility, if only for a moment.

That moment was quickly shattered by a muscled green cannonball hitting the water at maximum velocity.

"You’re cute when you’re discombobulated," Dash replied, as if it were the most logical answer in the world.

She reddened. “That’s not funny.”

"I know, but it also happens to be totally true."

"Could you be a nuisance somewhere else? I’d like a moment of peace and quiet, if you don’t mind."

"This entire planet is peace and quiet. It's a little unnerving.”

She frowned at him. "I thought I could trust you to keep out of trouble."

"That's different! I'm on shore leave! I need to de-stress!"

"That's all well and good, but can your de-stressing not involve me?"

“Come on, Naya. Come have fun for one second. Please?”

Dash smiled his most winning smile at her. Said smile was also accompanied by rippling muscular frame backlit by brilliant sunlight and dripping with water. Naya had about thirty new shades of red on her cheeks. "S-stop that," she said as forcefully as her current state of embarrassment would allow.

"Stop what?"

"Just - put a shirt on! Or get back in the water!"

"Hey, if you're worried about your Jedi girlfriends scooping me up, I can always remind them they've got a Code against stuff like this..."

"Dash!"

"All right, I'm going. Suit yourself." He dove back into the water, sending up another magnificent splash and leaving Naya dripping wet and wondering how they allowed command of the most elite SpecOps outfit in the Republic to fall to a five-year-old.

"Dash?"

"Yeah?"

Naya raised a hand to her eyes to block the sun as she peered up at the figure scaling the mountain before her. "Please get down from there."

"Oh hey." Dash glanced down at her quickly. "I thought you were meditating."

"There are reports from Forward Camp about large objects falling from the mountaintops all along the Tythos Ridge. These falling objects are accompanied by yelling and hollering. One Padawan noted that he may have heard the words 'Havoc Squad', but he's not entirely sure."

Dash stopped for a moment, then gave a mighty grunt and hauled himself up to a rock ledge hanging overhead. "Is that so," he replied innocently.

"Could you please find something quiet to occupy your time?" she huffed in exasperation. "Please? I didn't bring us here to turn the whole neighbourhood topsy-turvy and I don't feel like getting kicked off the planet today."

"If I stop yelling, can I stay up here?"

Naya glared at him.

Dash rolled his eyes. "Fine. Coming down."

"Dash."

"Hm."

"Dash?"

"Hmm."

“Dash.”

"Hmm?"

"What, in the name of all that is good and sane in this galaxy, are you doing up there?"

"Up where?" he retorted airily.

"You’re poking my hair."

"Can I say they look like beignets and it’s sort of distracting?"

She glared at him flatly.

"Fine. I wanted to see what was holding them up. See, I told you it was nothing."

"You’ve been poking my hair for the past half an hour. That’s not ‘nothing’."

Dash sank to the ground with all the dignity of a pouting toddler. “You Jedi are no fun, you know that? If I’m going to pester you and you’re going to pretend I’m not there, at least don’t tell me you busted me half an hour in.”

Naya groaned and brought a hand up to her throbbing forehead. “Stars, Dashiel, I can’t take you anywhere.”

This time, thank goodness, he actually looked like he was planning on taking her seriously. He drew himself up off of the grass and into a crouch that put the two Mirialans eye-to-eye. “I’m sorry, Nay. I’m a pest. Not that this place isn’t gorgeous, but serenity and perfect balance just doesn’t work for me." He reached forward and tilted her delicate face upwards to meet his. "Want me to back off?”

She glared with all the force of a thousand suns. “If you please, Captain Brolen.”

Dash winced. “Copy that. Backing off.”

And so he did. But Naya didn’t need to reach into the Force to know that he wouldn’t be too far away, nor did she need to guess whether he’d spend from now until the moment she set foot in their camp trying to think of some extravagant way of making it up to her. It was the way things were between them; at times they drove each other crazy, but it would never stop one or the other from making amends and restoring balance to the universe.

She allowed herself a grin as she settled back into her meditation. Balance. Fancy that.

Dash Brolen!

He’s one of my favorites! He’s a adorable, gentle giant! I love that he’s like a big brother to Naya, he’s protective but also teases her about Stiv. Like Naya he’s also self-conscious so he knows what that is like and he’s very supportive. I love that he loves poetry! Flirting Dash makes me smile! I need more Dash on my dash.
