❄️ [ SCENE ] Kate and Sam are just hanging out at ACup and wait for the snow to stop coming down so hard. Kate looks up for her book to look over at Sam and she [...]. It's a cute little thing that she never noticed her do before, and she can't stop looking.

[Sunday, February 18th, 2018] - @goldenglovesam

A dreary Sunday in New York city called for a warm drink. After a little convincing Kate was able to persuade Sam to meet her at Acuppella for an impromptu coffee date. She had gotten off the bus a few stops ahead of the cafe to enjoy a short walk in the snow that was falling with increasing vigor. Kate smiled as she spotted Sam standing outside of the entrance, bundled up in her coat and a heavy scarf. Truth be told, it was still hard for Kate to believe that they had gone on a date, let alone the fact that they were now dating exclusively. If she weren’t bundled up, Kate might have pinched herself in the moment. She pulled Sam in for a hug, pressing a kiss to her cold cheek. “ Looks like we’re going to have to wait it out, not that I’m complaining.”

Kate smiled bashfully as the blonde opened the door for her, stepping into the warm sanctuary of the coffee shop. Between snippets of conversation they each ordered a warm drink before moving to an empty booth situated along a window. She kept one hand wrapped tight around the warm mug as she pulled the third volume of Lumberjanes out of her bag, taking a moment to wave it excitedly at Sam. She thumbed to the page where her bookmark was situated and let herself get lost in the story.

After almost a half hour Kate dropped the volume to the table, a sigh settling between her lips as she let the events of the story digest. She pulled her mug towards her and took a sip, gaze lifting to where Sam was immersed in one of her comics. Her heart squeezed as she watched Sam hit was must have been an intense moment, her eyebrows furrowing in intense concentration. It was one of those small things that you would have never noticed about a person until spending time with them- and it sparked something deep within her heart. She continued to observe her girlfriend over the top of her mug, as she puzzled over the feeling. It wasn’t until a few moments later that it registered with her in surprise; Infatuation, all consuming. 

“See something you like?”

Kate shot out of her thoughts, a blush searing its way across her cheeks at being caught. “Just everything I’ve ever wanted.”
