The redhead let out a heavy, and protracted sigh, pulling herself upright from over the long table that she'd been working at for the last several hours. How many, exactly, she couldn't guess. It was easy for her to become fixated, since her return, to be obsessed with the smallest details and work them through, and given her particular field of study there were quite a few small details to become focused on. She rolled her shoulders, tilting her jaw towards her shoulder, the movements accompanied by the small sounds of bones popping as they settled into place. Her gaze shifted over the books and plans splayed over the table, coming to center on the plans that she had been working on for weeks, now, and months, before. The estate was drawn out in the style of the older houses in Mystic Falls, those that remained, that had survived from when the city had first been built. It shared all of the appropriate architectural designs; even the same building materials, and it was one of the final projects she would have to submit before her doctorate was complete.
Her nose wrinkled upwards as she glanced towards her wrist, and the watch on it, and she tried to ignore the small protest of hunger that her stomach emitted. She'd let herself get lost for too long, and her throat seemed instantly parched, and for a moment she was hyper-aware of each of the different sets of heartbeats in the building. Her fingers tightened, against the edge of the table, her head dropping down, before the moment passed, and she let out a slow breath of relief. The moment passed quickly, however, when her lashes parted and she came to the abrupt realization that she was no longer alone at the work table. "Oh, I -- Sorry. I didn't... hear you," she said, trying to conceal the moment of surprise.
"Another champagne, please," Jenna requested of the man behind one of the several open bars scattered about. "You know what, on second thought... can you make that a scotch, on the rocks, please? Maybe... make it a double, while you're at it."
i smell a rat
"All right," Amy declared, with a wrinkle of her nose and a shake of her head as she let out a low cough. "I'm all for a good laugh now and then, but whoever had the brilliant idea of switching out stink bug powder for ground newts tail.... We just might have to have words," she grumbled, trying to hold her house scarf up around her nose while she waved away the obnoxious smell that had filled the air. Extra credit for the potions course didn't quite seem worth it at this exact moment. Even with a proper cleansing spell, the smell was one that didn't ever seem to evaporate.
obstruction of cuteness
Amy sat, perched on one of the balconies beside the courtyard, leaning lightly against the pillar behind her. A book, one of the many potions texts she was supposed to be studying this semester, was laid across her drawn up knees, but her attention was rather obviously settled on something -- or someone -- across the main yard. Or rather it was, until someone came to a stop in front of her, leaving her little else to do but offer a faint sigh. "Excuse me." She uttered in her brogue-lilted words. "Excuse me. Sorry, but -- you're blocking my view." She stated, with a half smile and a half glance given to the unwary intruder.
littleorphanquinnie replied to your post: [P Why…? Why me?
[P Why would you give the money to me?
[pm] Why not? You're smart. You've got a good head on your shoulders and you deserve a break. And like I said, I'm kind of curious as to just what it was that you'd spend it on.
