I used to have dial-up only on the weekends on the family computer, so I stored the text files in floppy disks (favorite fics to always have them at hand, and new ones to keep devouring content). It was such a change when I had to start guessing how long a fic was by number of words instead of file size...

Oh my god yes, when K meant kilobytes instead of thousand.  What a world we lived in.  We’ve achieved such dizzying heights.

First. Wth the 21yo thinking she's wasting her time, that poor baby 😭 Not sure if it helps, but I'm a bit older (I think) and in my experience the different flavors of fucked up in the head kind of continue, they just evolve to match life circumstances and if you are lucky, you get a little bit better at dealing with them. I do have to say that that thing they say about giving less fucks the older you get, does seem to be at least a little bit accurate.

i truly think 23-28 is The Worst age to be, second only to being 14. i felt much older at 23 than i feel at 32, and i gave MANY more fucks back when i was a "i don't give a damn about my bad reputation" angsty teen than now. therapy helps too
