I’m kinda laughing at the atla tag being filled with screen grabs from the movie tagged z*tara and it’s literally just katara and zuko standing next to each other. Like baby the delusion is still so strong after all these years. They had barely any interactions in this movie and the most significant one was them both adamantly disgusted about being called a couple. Meanwhile, Zukka and Toko cathedrals everywhere in that movie for those with eyes to see. And of course, Kataang being That Girl once again

Thinking about how while the world loves Zuko the only person he ever loved was Mai

But what makes this even more beautiful is that Zuko grew up thinking he was ugly and unattractive because of his scar. Mai loved him pre and post banishment, the scar doesn’t even affect her and she nuzzles into it. Zuko is so comfortable with her touch. Their love is so pure.

Not to mention that now she gets this buff hunk all to herself.

I think the biggest problem with Zutara isn't the actual ship, it's how insufferable Zutara shippers are.

Like, you don't see Zukka shippers ever complaining about their ship not being canon, they are just like "yay we got some Zukka content in the movie" and then they have fun making fanart about it and writing fics like a normal shipper enjoying a fandom would.

But Zutara shippers are so set on wanting the ship to be canon that they hate on not only Kataang but Zukka and Maiko too. And everyone that disagrees with them is obviously a misogynist and they hate Katara.

I'm not telling you to stop shipping Zutara, i'm telling you to stop raining on everybody's parade, the show isn't bad written because you didn't get what you wanted.

Aang and Katara have a healthy, loving relationship and you need to accept that, it's been 20 years.

there needs to be a study done on how everyone on this site is extremely sympathetic towards zuko because they can understand that his actions were the direct consequence of the abuse he suffered at home, but would rather die than extend the same sympathy or understanding to aang, who is literally the last remaining survivor of a genocide. like, zuko can be as awful as he wants for the majority of the original show because he’s learning and he’s trying, but aang having an intense emotional reaction because he’s 12 and lost the one thing that survived the genocide of his people along with him is him overreacting and being immature. okay man sure whatever. i think it genuinely has to do with the enormity of aang’s loss and suffering, where most of us couldn’t even understand or comprehend it even if we tried, much less RELATE to it, whereas zuko’s experience becomes somewhat relatable to anyone who has suffered at the hands of their parents or family. and you absolutely should be sympathetic to zuko’s situation!!! but the dissonance between how zuko’s struggle is treated with maturity and nuance vs how aang is constantly criticised and mocked for displaying a fraction of that anger and grief (when he’s literally TWELVE YEARS OF AGE) always leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

Hmm…there’s something to be said about the fact that the person who’s known Katara the longest (her brother Sokka) teases Katara about guys she has confirmed interest in (Jet, Aang) while people who don’t know her at all (EIP, June) think she’s involved with Zuko (and only make that assumption without ever seeing her interact with Aang).
