Can I just ask how in the hell coming out as transgendered is related to being financially stable at all? And I think RIB were trying to show that it's okay to be yourself. I loved that aspect of the show considering the entire premise of Glee is to be yourself and not let others put you down. Unique was very confident and ready to be who she was meant to be.
If you're coming out to your parents, you have to be sure that you can support yourself incase the worst happens. Especially if you're coming out as transgender. If there's a risk that you'll be kicked out of your house, it's better to be financially stable and have a plan.
Confidence is wonderful. It's also a very important thing to have if you're LGBT. But confidence doesn't feed you, or put a roof over your head. Do I like that we have to hide who we are for fear of be ostracized by our families or fired from our jobs? Of course not. I know I'm being a Debbie Downer, but it's important to be realistic. I loved Unique. But I was also terrified for her. Being ready isn't the only thing to consider when coming out.
You have a very valid point. I apologize for my unintended sexism. *him/her
Haha not sexism, just saying that we don't know.
Though I notice that men seem to be against homosexuality more than women.
Not saying it's fact, I'm just saying that's how I've seen it.
Your anon is an asshole. Don't listen to him for a second. There is absolutely nothing wrong with your sexuality!
How do we know it's a boy? (just pointing out your choice of words haha.)
And I know there's nothing wrong with my sexual orientation, which is why I defended it.
:D
