Distant memories...
I know it's funny to go "teehee lesbianism" when Fang checks Vanille and Lightning's brands but man, Fang's obsession over brands really does get me. Because there's this entitlement in the way she handles them—she doesn't ask for their permission and she even shoves them around a bit to check. To her, it's information owed: what stage is the brand at? How well are they handling the psychological pressure? Just how long is it until it's Cie'th City? What will she do if it's too late?
Fang is the only one that isn't a ticking time bomb. In this way, she's isolated and alone, and it scares her more than she's willing to admit to imagine a world in which she's actually alone because everyone she cares about has succumbed to a fate worse than death.
So to hell with your discomfort, Lightning, I'm checking your brand.
To the Tartaglia who dared me to not capture him in Windtrace and proceeded to just sit on a chair while watching me catch the other two and then just chilled while I sat next to him. You’re a chad.
I fuckin love this game and community.
What’s this? Am I actually working on the blog again after so stinkin’ long? Why yes, yes I am! So while I’m busy on the next post, have a proper ref of *REDACTED* Infinite~
So this is the dialogue I got after completing all the monolith entries for the datalog:
Prompto: I think that’s the last of the monoliths.
Gladio: Sure looks that way. Hard to imagine even a King of Yore was no match for these menaces.
Prompto: And sad to think his story is all but forgotten.
Ignis: But it isn’t over. It seems the king believed his heir would one day vanquish these foes.
Gladio: That means you, pal.
Noctis: Yeah, thanks. I got that much.
On the Nature of Fal’Cie
Full disclosure: I started this post some years ago. (Whoops.) Back then, this post was prompted by a rather poor explanation on the FF wiki about fal’Cie and l’Cie, and what their respective purposes were. That has since changed to a much more accurate summarization of the lore.
That said, I’ve still seen plenty of confusion concerning the lore since there are so many moving pieces and it can take a lot of digging to understand it. So I’m going to go ahead and just post this as is—with the outdated FF wiki excerpt—just so that I can finally get this out there.
