It all seemed like it was fading away.. There wasn’t anything left in this town. What friends Shinji had were gone now. Asuka was in a coma. Shinji didn’t even know if Rei Ayanami was even a real person. Him and Misato had left the city. They were all at NERV now.

The only other kid that was there was him.. Kaworu Nagisa. Probably one of the strangest people Shinji has ever met. Yet, there was something about him. Something that Shinji was drawn to… attracted to even. At the same time.. He was strange. Killing that stray kitten, the things he said about Ayanami… That time Shinji woke up being kissed by him in Nagisa’s room.

Did he hate him? Did he like him? What was this feeling? That sticky feeling in his chest that Kaworu described. Shinji didn’t want to admit it, not to Nagisa, but he felt it to and he had no idea why. It seemed so wrong, then again he didn’t know why it felt wrong either. 

No one ever cared about him. No one had ever said the words ‘I love you’ to him that he could remember. Shinji didn’t know. He didn’t know if his feelings were justified, or what they even were about Nagisa. 

The teen walked out of the dorm that he was assigned. He knew where Nagisa’s was, and was already walking there before he even decided for sure he was going to talk to him. It seemed like the best way to clear up whatever this feeling was.

By the time Shinji got there however, there was no one there. No Nagisa. All of these events, the feeling it left him. Shinji was screaming inside, and wanted to on the outside, but couldn’t. There were never any options, never any escape it seemed.

Afterword the boy found himself in one of NERV’s baths that he had never used before. Shinji always preferred showers. Bad memories always seemed to find him whenever was in a bath. There was a lot of space, and no one around. He already didn’t feel as tense, his breathing seemed to relax. Time felt almost non-existent. That was when he heard the steps..

Shinji turned his head around, someone was coming in. Of course it happened to be the person he was first looking for, but not in the place he originally wanted. Shinji could feel his face starting to blush when he caught himself staring at Kaworu. He quickly turned around hoping that the other boy hadn’t noticed. Now his heart was racing again.

“W-W-What are you doing here?.. W-Where were you?”

Why was he hugging this strangely pale twink, Hunk didn’t know. There was just something about him that made the yellow paladin want to hold him close and keep him safe. At least for a little while. In a long warm hug.

There was also something about this guy that Hunk couldn’t put his finger on. Something quite eerie...
