“A Maribet”
“What are you looking at?”
Nino yelped and ducked back behind the stairs. He glanced back at the courtyard nervously, but no one had seemed to notice his shout. At least…Marinette, Mylène, and Rose hadn’t seemed to notice, and that was really the only thing that mattered. He looked up from where he was crouched behind the steps to find Kim looming over him, a wide smirk on his face and his eyes locked on the girls on the other side of the courtyard.
“N-nothing,” he stammered out. He tugged his hat down and hoped his face wasn’t as red as it felt. “Shut up, dude. I wasn’t doing nothing.”
“You were staring at Marinette like a creep,” another voice piped up, and Nino yelped again and jumped away from the steps – into Kim – with a flail when he noticed Alix sitting beneath the steps.
“W-when did you get here?!” he gasped, a hand clutching his chest as he tried to steady his racing heart. Alix grinned at him and flipped the page of her comic book.
“I’ve been here the whole time,” she said cryptically. She glanced over at Kim, her smirk growing. “Yo.”
“Hey,” Kim said, smirking back. He looked down at Nino. “Why’re you staring at Marinette?”
“I was not, dude!” Nino whined. Kim looked evil. Nino was starting to think he was. “I was…I was…”
“Staring at Marinette,” Alix supplied. “Like a creep.”
