My failed dating life in 2018
I've been single like forever and exactly one year ago I decided to give Tinder a chance. You know, just to "meet new people". *cough cough*
Switching it on and off regularly because of a busy schedule and swiping left and right until all guys more or less looked the same (sorry not sorry), I met 5 guys in real life. Here's how it went.
Guy 1: nice guy with similar interests and views. But I felt he was holding back a little. He told me (on our fifth date for god's sake) that he just came out of a long term relationship and that he realized that he wasn't ready for a new one. You could have told me sooner, no?
Guy 2: this guy seemed really sweet and caring, but he told me he wanted two children (preferably boys because he doesn't like the idea of having girls) and asked me "what we were" while we were on date 2. I told myself to run and hide.
Guy 3: was very nice to text with but had nothing to say irl. And he told me he confused his cat's nipples with ticks and tried to pull them off once... I never even texted him back after that one date. Creep.
Guy 4: lived almost 100km away (not even in the same country) but was convinced that it could work out between us. Despite telling him that we lived too far away from each other, I agreed to go on a date, which was actually a lot of fun. Afterwards he realized that the distance was indeed a no-go. Told ya!
Guy 5: was sweet, funny, caring and handsome, took initiative, wasn't socially impaired, had interesting hobbies, loved his family and had a good job. In 1 word, perfection. We talked a lot on date 1, kissed on date 2 and made out on date 3. And then he told me he's going to fucking Australia for a year. "And I'm leaving in a month". Great. Absolutely fantastic.
