“TULIPS, HUH?”

“Yeah! They blossom around spring to early summer.”

“[SIGH] IF ONLY MY FOREST WASNT A CEASELESS WINTER ALL OF THE TIME.”

“Maybe you can keep them near the burning? I think they should be able to handle cooler temperatures.”

Retro Games Evening

Just in the train back from our second meeting. (I still don't really know if it's a date or not..?) As it turns out, my friend from work and her wife were going as well, so we said we'd meet up in there. I got there early and waited for K outside. She arrived looking amazing and smiling as usual. I gave her my old therabands, as she needed them for her workout, along with some haribo and I got her a build your own metallic X-Wing. She seemed quite excited! The evening seemed to go really well. Lots of laughs and playing lots of games. I walked her back to her car and we were just chatting about random bits. She's definitely going to the convention next weekend, so I'm sure I'll be bumping in to her there. :) When she got to her I said good bye, and we had a nice long hug. I wasn't too sure if it was "the moment" though, so if it was, I totally missed it. :/ She text me that she's just got home and had a stellar evening again. :) Think things are going well? Hoping that there's the possibility of more than friendship still. Should probably have that conversation sooner rather than later. :/

Date #2 | Carlos & Eva

It’s been a long time since Eva went on a date with a man who seemed to be genuinely interested in having an actual romantic relationship with her, and she honestly didn’t expect Carlos would be that guy, considering they met when she gave him a paid lap dance. However, he turned out to be sweet, gracious and incredibly kindhearted fella who went as far as resting flowers on her car when she was at work- but still, she was frightened, mostly for having the fear of letting him down. Considering the two apparently go way back, the woman was scared of the moment when he’ll learn she’s not the same person she once was and will eventually leave her out of not living up to his expectations. 

So, for their second date, Eva tried her best to not look cheap; mixing and matching a black, jeweled crop top with faux leather pants and a pair of red heels while slightly laying off the makeup, she was able to look almost graceful; Gothic, perhaps, but graceful. She purposefully didn’t schedule their date on a work night, so they won’t have a time limit, and even put the house in order in case he’ll come in, though by the time he was supposed to pick her up she waited for him outside in order to not waste any time, especially because Carlos told her he’s planning something special. When she saw his car coming from a distance, she took a deep breath and let out a sigh of tension. As he came closer she smiled and waved at him, waiting for him to pause. “Hey.” She grinned as she opened the car door and sat by his side. “I won’t lie; I’ve been waiting for this all day.” She stated, openhearted.

Hank - “I think I’m a little early...but the early bird catches the worm! Right? I’ve not had many dates since John’s death.  We were twenty years apart. I met him when I was 21 and he was 41, now twenty some years later he is gone and I am learning how to date all over again....Oh I think that is Taric...”

Taric- “Let’s go for a little walk, I love watching the sun start to set over the bay. I rarely get to Windenburg, such a beautiful place.”

Hank - “Yes, it is!  John always wanted to live here, but with the studio in San Myshuno, most of our business was there. You seem to love nature and it’s beauty.  Are you a romantic, Taric?”

Taric- “I suppose. I do love nature, as it is beautiful. But romantic, I am not sure.  I hope to have someone like you had. You know a long relationship. Building memories together.”

Hank- “That’s a romantic, for sure.  Let’s go watch the sun!”

As Taric walked away, Hank was pleased with the date....

Hank- “I certainly hope he calls again. Such a fine young man. Reminds me of myself twenty years ago....

Taric really liked Hank, but he talked a great deal about John.  At first he found it endearing, but after a while, he felt he was in competition with John. Maybe if he took him fishing he wouldn’t think so much about his former partner....

Taric- So you are a photographer?”

Hank - “Yes, me and John, he was my partner for twenty years, he passed about a year ago, we opened it up a studio together. It has done well over the years, but I think I am looking to do something else now that he is gone. Maybe just travel. Or take up painting”

Taric- “My father is a painter, as was his father. It runs in our family! I would love to travel, I just don’t have the time or money. But someday I would love to as well.”

Hank- “Well, who knows, maybe you and I could take a trip sometime.”

Taric- “Yeah, who knows....”
