Date Crinkle Cookies are a sweet and chewy delight. The rich flavors of dates are combined with a hint of vanilla in this treat, which is encased in a delicate powdered sugar coating.
Ingredients: 1 cup chopped dates. 1/2 cup butter, softened. 1 cup granulated sugar. 2 eggs. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 2 cups all-purpose flour. 1 teaspoon baking soda. 1/2 teaspoon salt. 1/2 cup powdered sugar for rolling.
Instructions: Warm the oven up to 350F 175C and put parchment paper on a baking sheet. Put the chopped dates and hot water in a bowl. Soak them for ten minutes, then drain and set them aside. Put the softened butter and granulated sugar in a large bowl and mix them together until they are light and fluffy. After adding the vanilla extract, beat in the eggs one at a time. Combine well. Mix the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt together in a different bowl. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ones and mix them together until they are just combined. The dates should be evenly spread out in the dough after they have been soaked. Put the dough in the fridge for about 30 minutes to make it easier to work with. Put the sugar powder in a small bowl. Take tablespoon-sized chunks of dough and roll them into balls. Coat each ball in powdered sugar by rolling it in it. Spread the dough balls out on the baking sheet that has been prepared, leaving space between them. After the oven is hot, bake the cookies for 10 to 12 minutes, or until they are set and the edges are just beginning to turn golden. Let the cookies cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before moving them to a wire rack to cool all the way. Enjoy these tasty Date Crinkle Cookies after they've cooled down!
