Keeping hopeful, ladies??
If dating douche bags was an Olympic sport, I'd have more gold medals than Michael Phelps.
Just when you think you’ve seen it all...
To the dudes of Bumble...
So, here we are yet again. It’s 2018. Time for new beginnings, new resolutions, perhaps new love? That might be the goal for lots of us. As we continue on with another year of online dating, we thought the following post would be a nice reminder to some of the fellas out there (not all).
These are just some of the frustrations that I myself and some of my girlfriends face in the lovely world of Bumble. So gentleman, take note....
1. If you swipe on a woman you like and it’s a match, why do you let the 24 hour time run out? You swiped on us first, so if you don’t feel someone, don’t swipe in the first place.
2. If you swipe on a woman you like and it’s a match, and you DO message back, for heaven’s sake, I’m sure you know more words in the English language then, “hey.”
3. Men, women are not here to do all of the heavy lifting. If you are interested, keep up the conversation! It’s not our job to ask you 101 questions. Conversation and interest is a 2 way street, do your part.
4. If you do chat with a woman, please don’t make the conversation all about you. We do want to know about you, but we’d like to think that you may want to know something about us too? Stop with the gym selfies and waiting for us to comment....we’re not in high school.
5. This is for those men who have swiped us on more than once on the Bumble. Guys, if you have swiped on us more than once, we are going to think you are still interested, re-interested or possibly forgot that you have previously matched with us before. In either case, please try to remember and if you think this time it could be a booty call, keep swiping.
6. This is not Baskin Robbins. You do not get to try all 31 flavours my friend. Some men seem to think they can keep swiping and swiping to get the hottest women out there. This is the illusion of options. It may seem like you have a lot of options, but trust me, at some point the same ones are gonna come up again...the pictures rotate like a damn ferris wheel.
7. When we get off of the Bumble because we’ve exchanged numbers and start texting, for the love of God, please don’t ask for more pictures. You just saw me online and all of my pictures on my profile. Nothing is gonna change in an hour...I still look the same. And no, I will not be sending you any sexy pics.
8. When we enter the world of texting, men, please, let’s move things along. We don’t want a pen pal. If we did, we’d sign up for one. We’re on a dating site looking for a man who knows what he wants and who won’t waste our time. If you want a pen pal, write to your grandmother.
9. Another thing - please don’t take forever to message back. We know you are busy and have a life, well, so do we. So unless you are a rocket scientist for NASA or a superhero trying to save the world, there’s no excuse for not replying to a message in a decent amount of time....and no, 6 hours is not a decent amount of time.
10. Ah, and last, but not least...the pet names. Please refrain from calling us “honey,” “baby,” “sexy,” “hottie,” “lover,” or “snickerdoodle” (sidebar, I did have a dude call me “snickerdoodle” after two conversations). This just shows us that you may be talking to multiple women, which is fine (if that’s what she’s doing too), and that you haven’t taken the time to remember our name and by using the pet names, you don’t have to remember any woman’s name. That don’t impress me much.
Happy new year everyone! May 2018 be your year for love!

Dating Advice 101
No one ever said online dating was easy. You swipe and you swipe until you find a guy that you really like. Maybe he’s really cute and checks off all of the wants on your list (I find these lists tend to get shorter with time).
You message him with something witty and let our your flirty side, while still trying to play somewhat “hard to get.” It’s almost like a dance; you both go back and forth in this dance, and you just want him to ask you for your number so you can go out!
You laugh at all of his jokes, tell him he has a nice smile, and show that your super patient (even though your cussing at your phone for him to hurry up and make a move lol). You’re a smooth operator....or give the illusion of one ;)
After talking to many girlfriends about online dating, it was one of my dearest one’s who said something very profound and true:
When you really want a guy, remember to just back off and let them do their thing. Let them know what we want and that we are interested, and see what they do about it. If they’re right, they’ll try to do what we ask and will make an effort to move things along. If not, NEXT!
So, next time you find that guy you’re super keen for online, be clear in what you want, let him know that you’re interested, and see if he joins you in the dance.
Communicating with Your Partner...
Is it better to expect your partner to anticipate your needs or to be direct and tell them?
