  @datureae​  played  russian  roulette     //     dvd’s  already  decided  he’s  way  too  good  to  just  sit  on  the  ground  in  the  middle  of  the  gas  station  parking  lot  ,      so  he’s  ,      what  ,      pulled  himself  a  couple  of  different  blankets  from  nearby  (  come  on  ,      twenty  miles  out  isn’t  that  far  away  )  shops  and  people’s  homes  .      and  now  ,      he’s  sitting  on  them  ,      cross  -  legged  ,      so  he  doesn’t  have  to  touch  the  concrete  .      and  when  she  comes  out  ,      he’s  there  ,      next  to  her  (  really  old  and  worn  -  out  )  car  ,      leaned  forward  with  his  elbow  on  his  knee  and  dry  smirk  at  his  lips  that  doesn’t  touch  his  eyes  .            ❝      you  need  a  new  car  .      this  one  is  shit  .      ❞

     They’ve yet to really test the illusion tech on the ground, so to speak. The Quentin Beck persona has existed only as something nebulous and distant – not accessible by the average person. He’s a hero on the television, not one you’re liable to run into on the street.

     Time to go off-script.

     “I had to lay low, after Spider-Man – Parker – after he…” His expression aims for hurt, betrayed. They were supposed to be allies, after all. Friends. (the kid was supposed to roll over and die) “If he finds out I’m alive, I’m worried he’ll come after me. Do what he did on the bridge.”

Farouk has the opposite fear from Syd: he gets uncomfortable when he’s left alone for long stretches of time, with no audience and no victims to force to dance for his amusement. This is a big part of why he’s in the habit of holding people’s psyches prisoner in his own mind, the way he did with Lenny. It was a habit he had long before he himself became disembodied, and was, in fact, how he learned that he could preserve a consciousness after the death of its body.
