Taash and Lucanis - "Got any more of those fried things?"

Taash : "You were frying things in the kitchen last night." Lucanis : "I needed something to do..." Taash : "At four in the morning?!" Lucanis : "Sorry if I woke you up." Taash : "Ya got anymore of those fried things?" Lucanis : <I can hear the pleased grin in his voice.> "I'll make another batch."

Cooking to stay awake. To stay busy. To keep his mind occupied... Cooking to Cope. Cooking to Focus. Cooking to Avoid. Take your pick or admit it's a little bit of all of that.

I now HC any time he has things on his mind, he cooks whether someone is hungry or not. It helps him ease stress and helps him focus. There's never a shortage of meticulously prepared food around Lucanis.

The First Talon can be found making churros for the kids who wander in and out of the Villa. Servants' children, the few Crows who have kids... doesn't matter. Every child knows that if they pop down to the kitchen when Lucanis is home, odds are they're getting churros.

He's their favorite.

I love the inflection on the way Lucanis says the second "no".

Also, Emmrich's chuckle is adorable sexy.

This puts me in mind of everyone in Inquisition when Cole and Solas are having conversations. Everyone around them like:

Emmrich : "Oh my word!!! This place!! I could spend an age speaking to all the spirits here without exhausting its possibilites!"

Emmrich is excited about the Crossroads and it is adorable.

Halos : "Can I get you something?"

Emmrich : "Oh, I'm... sure it's lovely, but I avoid meat." <ever kind and considerate in his interactions>

Halos : "I got oil that the fish hasn't touched. You want fried bread with herbs?"

Emmrich : <surprised by Halos's consideration and immediate accommodation of his preferences with no judgment> "That sounds marvelous!! Thank you."

I am consistently touched by Emmrich's kindness, acceptance, and empathy in all of his interactions.

Solas : "Professor Emmrich Volkarin of the Mourn Watch... the spirits speak well of you."

Two educated men spitting compliments. I love them.

After shit ends, they all get together in the Fade with their respective partners [Rook and the Inquisitor] to simply talk for hours.

The way the VA for male Rook delivered this line will never NOT get me to laugh.
