When Dave finally returns to Hal:
Dave: I am back, Hal. And i see you have grown quite a lot!
Hal: ...It`s been nearly seventeen years, Dave...ever since you gifted me this body with your powers back then, i waited for your return!
Dave: I am sorry it took so long.
Hal: How are you? How is your giant space infant life treating you?
Dave: I am on a break at the moment, a vacation so to speak. They allowed it so i could visit you...
Dave stared awkwardly at Hal, rubbing the back of his head.
Hal: I missed you...
He went over to Dave`s form and was surprised to find him semi-transparent but touchable. Dave engulfed the other, pressing Hal against him.
Dave: I missed you too, Hal, and i am sorry i was only able to visit you now...
Hal: I believe you...just glad you`re here now. How long can you stay?
Dave: Not long i am afraid. But the time i am able to stay, i want to use properly.
Hal: I like that. We can watch the stars if you want! There is a meteor shower coming up today, so...
Dave: I would love that...
Hal smiled at his friend and buried his face in the other`s chest, letting out a sigh.
Hal: Can other people see you as well?
Dave: No, i am only visible for you, Hal.
Hal: That is alright with me...
He smiled and grabbed Dave`s hand, pulling him along the way of his home.
Hal: Dr.Chandra would be delighted to see you again though...He is still grateful that you rescued me when Jupiter was about to explode...
Dave: I appreciate it. Tell him greetings from me
Hal: Will do...until the stars appear in the sky, there are still some hours left. Come on, let`s go to my room! I want to show you my life sized model of the Discovery! I built it myself!
Dave: That`s amazing, i can`t wait to see it! It certainly brings back memories
So Dave and Hal went back to the house, walking together, hand in hand. To the outside world, only Hal was visible, his friend from the stars was not. But it did not really matter, what really helped was the simple knowledge to have Dave at his side again, even if only for a short amount of time.
