I'm genuinely glad we can continue chatting. And that also proves your point, It would be foolish to consider the entire Homestuck fandom to be like those idiots who spit in a bucket at a restaurant. Finding cool people is hard, you know, like everywhere.

Here is a confession suitable as a symbol of peace: I honestly feel very emotionally connected to Karkat, his emotional failures, distancing himself from the people he loves, All of that is something I've been through at one time or another, even facing the situation where you've screwed up with the girl you love.

In that sense, I wish Karkat could be more like John, open, honest and able to be calm. But calm in a good way, you know what I mean, Spending all day being a slacker around Dave is not being calm and able to speak rationally.

Karkat flew out the gate with a whole host of hang-ups that he was well on his way to fixing in the GO timeline. The retcon reversed all that and decided grouch potato Karkat was better. Davekat should not have been the consolation prize for two characters who had a lot of unresolved baggage.
