Artist David LaFerriere’s kids must be constantly thrilled to open up their lunch boxes. After making the kids’ sandwiches, LaFerriere uses sharpie pens to draw a quick illustration on the outside of the plastic bag. He photographs his work, and the kids don’t see the artwork until they sit down at school to have their meal. Over 1000 illustrations have been made since the first day of school, LaFerriere enjoys the challenge of coming up with a new idea every day and he says, “I’ve been doing it for my kids since they were little. They love it, and nothing makes me happier than hearing their reaction at the end of the day.”

Lanchinho ilustrado!

O designer David Laferriere deve acordar bem cedinho e com muito bom humor, porque fazer uma ilustração na embalagem do lanche dos filhos para levarem para a escola, todos os dias, não é fácil!

Mas antes de desenhar no plástico, Laferriere ilustrava no próprio pão, com corante de alimentos. Mas isso gastava muito mais tempo e era bem trabalhoso, por causa da superfície do pão.

São mais de mil desenhos diferentes! Na página do Flickr do designer tem várias imagens dos pãezinhos. O objetivo de tudo isso foi de fazer os filhos preferirem os lanches caseiros aos vendidos na própria escola. Educação alimentar bem divertida!
