Manchester's Mighty 'The Cape Race'

For the lovers of ‘Kids in Glass Houses’ and Alternative rock in general this may be the band you’ve been looking for. ‘The Cape Race’ offers a fresh, raw sound that is extremely hard to find on the UK scene especially for a signed band. Their mini-album is out now and is available for download via their website. Haven’t got any money? You're in luck, you can get the whole mini-album ‘Now, Voyager’ for free.

The band have been signed to LAB records who have the likes of ‘Hellogoodbye’, “FutureProof’ and ‘Not Advised’ to their name and well as having signed the unfortunately recently split ‘Pegasus Bridge’. The Cape Race had been playing the Manchester music scene in separate bands and eventually found each other to form what is now know as ‘The Cape Race’. The band was then scooped up by LAB records and have been on the rise ever since. The five-piece band has had a lot of bands supporting their growth allowing them to play alongside some huge names in the industry today.

Their latest single ‘The Reprieve’ is out now along with the video and has been grabbing a lot of hits on YouTube. David Moloney voice is a spirited compliment to the lyrics throughout the mini-album and makes the band unique to stand out amongst the many bands flooding the music channels. The songs, to me, stand out for their hard hitting vocals and appealing tracks. The chords and slow rhythm contrasts with the vocals giving them their charm and showing any ‘Non-Brit’ what we British are all about when it comes to our music. 

Although the mini-album only holds eights tracks, it gives a taste of what they are all about and what is to come. Look out for them causing a stir and creating some intense new tracks with their signature powerful vocals and alternative melodies.
