Fluffy Hcs With David Tapp

David can get super focused with what he’s doing. He’s a detective and will always be a detective, and he pours his heart into whatever he’s doing. He can go for hours, sometimes even a full day without even talking to you. He doesn’t mean to! He loves you so much, he’s just very into his work! Once he starts thinking about something, it’s hard for him to waver. That being said, if someone mentions to him that he’s neglecting you, or if the thought that he hasn’t spoken to you suddenly pops in his head, he immediately drops what he’s doing. Even if it’s just to give you a quick smooch on the forehead, tell you he loves you, and then continue on what he was doing.

You’re just chilling by the campfire and you feel something on your head. David’s dropped his cap down onto you -- backwards, so you can see him without your vision obscured by the rim. He grins at you. “How’s my sweetheart?”

Calls you sweetheart, darling, sugar. All of them.

He loves to gently take your hand and kiss your knuckles while maintaining eye contact with you.

A killer picks you up and David throws an absolute hissy fit. “n OW YOU PUT ‘EM DOWN RIGHT THIS INSTANT OR THINGS ARE GONNA GET UGLY”. Sometimes he forgets that although he is a detective who has been through some shit, he really doesn’t stand a chance against most of the killers.

He will protect you through literally anything. This man will take hits for you. He will sacrifice himself for you. He will do anything. When you’re both in danger together, you become his top priority.

Sometimes he gets a little... Crazy with his things. You find him buried in papers that are strewn everywhere. You don’t have any idea what’s what and you don’t know how he knows either. He looks stressed. You smile, kiss the side of his face, and offer to lend him a hand. You see him visibly relax. He sighs. He kisses your cheek, “thank you, sweetheart.” Please try to organise some of his stuff.

In The Fog, he gives you his detective badge. He closes your fingers around it and, “this is gonna keep you safe even when I’m not there, okay?” You don’t believe him until Frank Morrison tries to stab you and his blade pings off the badge and he ends up hitting himself in the face. You now wear that badge with pride.
