It’s strange, but as The Man became more distant, the Temple became more prominent and accessible. The @renwickgallery was all sorts of incredible. The temple was 👌🏼. As soon as you entered, the energy stilled. Hearing the meditative musical medicine of @gamelatron felt so familiar and rooted me into the experience. Even though people were moving in and out of the space, all of the prayers written on the temple walls to lost beloveds, along with what I believe was the artist’s intention and spirit, filled the room with a deep quiet and reverence. It was simply breathtaking. A Viking Funeral for Historic London

What is it? To commemorate the 350th anniversary of the Great Fire of London, arts company Artichoke and “Burn” artist David Best created an ornate 400ft-long wooden model of the 1666 London skyline, and burned it on the Thames.

It’s good because modern London was defined by the rebuild after the fire; this was a Viking funeral for the historic capital.
