Happy #socksunday. I love flying pigs - the idea of something so happy and fanciful and impossible being true - so these flying pig socks; flying pig print by @rainbowofcrazy on Etsy that my dear friend @julieschoerke got me for my birthday; and the last page of one of my very favourite picture books Tuesday by David Wiesner make me happy to look at. . I love TUESDAY so much - the magic and joy and humour - and I've wished for years that David Wiesner would write and illustrate a sequel with the flying pigs from the last page. I hope some day he does.... . Also PIGS MIGHT FLY by Emily Rodda is a delightful, feel-good, emotionally satisfying read, one of my very favourite MG books - and yes, it has flying pigs in it, too! (grinning) . Illustrated in watercolor, David Wiesner’s Caldecott-awarded Flotsam shows how one child’s beach vacation goes from ordinary to extraordinary with his discovery of an underwater camera.
