I think there would be a huge benefit of them doing a storyline where Jake realizes he's bi because unlike Rosa, who realized when she was a kid, a lot of people come to terms with their sexuality later on in life, even after they're married. But I agree that I don't think it'll happen because narratively it won't make sense for them to do it.

I think the implication was that if Oliver was the hookup type we’d have gotten the same type of heated hookup scenes for Oliver, which sounds nice theoretically of course but is just wrong.

They could have went that way but instead they chose to have the two guys Oliver showed some interest in reject him. So Oliver doesn’t get those scenes single or in a relationship whereas Connor only gets them while single it seems.
