The Arctic has the most incredible light, the magic hour never seems to end. This photo is from back from the summer of 2012 while crossing the Davis Strait from Baffin Island to Greenland. I was aboard a Russian icebreaking vessel with a team of scientists from the Canadian Museum of Nature documenting climate change. I can only imagine what some of the places we visited on that trip look like now in 2016 with even more sea ice disappearing. It was unbelievable to see the images of huge glaciers, several miles long, from 7 years prior, completely gone from sight. It’s mind blowing how quickly the planet is changing right in front of us. Sometimes I feel so small and insignificant in it all. What can a single person do in their daily lives to truly make a difference while still participating in the modern world?
