I know Teddy Roosevelt and Obama won the noble peace prize as president but is Al gore the only vp who won the peace prize? Also what did they actually get the prize for?
Four Presidents have actually won the Nobel Peace Prize: Theodore Roosevelt in 1906 for helping to broker a peace treaty to end the Russia-Japanese War; Woodrow Wilson was awarded the prize in 1919 for his role in creating the League of Nations at the end of World War I; Jimmy Carter won the prize in 2002 (21 years after leaving the White House) for his extensive post-Presidency work around the world with the Carter Center; and Barack Obama was awarded the prize in 2009 basically because he wasn't George W. Bush. That wasn't the official reason for Obama's Nobel Peace Prize, but I don't think that reason is too far from the truth. Even President Obama was confused about why he won the Peace Prize.
As for Vice Presidents, you're correct about Al Gore winning a share of the Peace Prize in 2007 for his work on climate change. Charles Gates Dawes, who was Vice President under Calvin Coolidge from 1925-1929, was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1925 for the Dawes Plan, which helped resolve lingering diplomatic issues regarding war reparations owed by Germany following World War I. Vice President Dawes's Peace Prize is often forgotten about when people discuss Presidents and Vice Presidents who were Nobel Peace Prize laureates. And while Theodore Roosevelt won the Peace Prize while he was the incumbent President, it's worth noting that he was also a former Vice President, having served as VP from President McKinley's second term inauguration in March 1901 until McKinley's assassination six months later.
