he had found himself leaning against the wall for a while, arms crossed as he watched the other hurry around with those boxes, only occasionally disappearing to deal with the anxiety that so clearly has clawed itself into him. "kariya" dinadan's voice is soft as he walks towards the other, not touching him in case that would be too much for him. "you need a break. come, I'll make you some tea"
He hadn’t really noticed Dinadan, too preoccupied with his current task (and with shutting off all awareness he has of anything). It’s an easy enough task to shut down during, a back and forth, if the thing doesn’t make noise it’s an important material that gets put in storage for processing, if it’s a container he can hear squirming in it gets broken down.
Absently, Kariya feels like he should feel more satisfied in getting to destroy these things. It’s what he’d expect for himself. But he doesn’t. He just feels sick and distant. Dinadan’s voice makes him jolt, straightening up abruptly. The immediate reaction is to bristle, bite before the situation turns on him.
“I’m fine,” Kariya answers on reflex before he’s had time to think on it.
He kicks the moving dolly, currently empty. “There shouldn’t be much more to sort coming over. I think. They keep surprising me with them. There’s materials in the supplies, and I don’t want anyone trying to pick up some prisms or something and getting crest worms. Nobody else should... I don’t want da Vinci having to get near them.” Ritsuka’s already too close for comfort, but he can’t do anything about that.
A while year or so since... never mind. Kariya shakes his head as if to clear it. “I...” A reminder. He’s allowed to take help. (And the image of Berserker growling at him for not accepting something offered comes to mind.) “Yeah, so long as you’re not getting anyone else to clean this mess up while I’m gone, that’ll be fine.”
